Wanting

Re: Wanting

I had one of those too, she wouldnt buy anything less than a LV. There was a joke around the office that her husband had to sell his BMW to afford her bags hehe..

Re: Wanting

Sara at least you aknowledge that you have a problem...it's a start no?

Re: Wanting

Sara

You can never stop wanting!

Re: Wanting

don't stress about it too much, sara... if you want something new, instead of buying a big-ticket item, or holding yourself back and then going crazy and spending 100's of dollars, just buy something thats not so pricey.
make it something small, like a new lipstick or a new eyeliner or ONE pair of new shoes, and satisfy your craving. eventually, just knowing that you can have something whenever you want it might help you stop craving it all the time.

i don't think buying things for yourself is a problem unless you're getting into serious debt over it, and especially not if it makes you feel happy. i treat myself once every two weeks... thats when i get paid and i go out and buy a single item because dammit, i work my ass off and i want to be able to spend some of my money on myself instead of all my bills! just stick to a limit, and a timeline (once every two weeks or once a month or something), and a reasonable amount that makes sense to you and go for it! :)

Re: Wanting

That's an insult to women.

Re: Wanting

I don't think you can change it, over time it'll come cause I used to be like that. However my wife isn't like that and she'll never ask me for anything and sometimes we get in arguments because I tell her to ask me for things and she just replies saying, "Abhi zeroorant nahi hai". God it pisses me off.

Re: Wanting

^ lol careful what you wish for

Re: Wanting

I'm serious dude, she never asks me for anything.

Re: Wanting

sara - no need to worry - there was a time when i wanted too much of everything , example i used to change at least twice a day if not thrice ,

but now i find myself wearing the same dress on the third day as well .

so time changes everything :)

infact our habits change with time , as we grow older or become more matured.

Re: Wanting

well i pretrty much have the same problem, wht ive found is that i keep buying stuff cum home realize 2 months down the line, I have 2 of the same ??? how silly is that?? basically im obsessed with shopping, i think my problem has been fuelledf by all my other problsm, so i turn to shopping 4 therapy whether i have money or not

However wht u can do is do a clearout of ure wardrobe and give away to charity, An even better idea is to sel ure stuff on line like places like ebay. I started doing this and get a kick out of selling mythings.. U can keep the money as well as give it 2 charity

Re: Wanting

Freedom is not procured by a full enjoyment of what is desired, but by controlling the desire.

If you can learn to control, you've won the battle in life!

Make a list of your "wants" then prioritize.

Re: Wanting

i shop when i'm sad

Re: Wanting

isnt this called greed!
lol dont mind

but its built in function in humans, so dont worry much
when u dont have money, u wont spend

u know abt the precedence rule?
people do different stuff with the same thing in different situation
when u have other things to spend(eg school/college fee for kids, mortgage, doctors or anyother medical reason) on, u wont spend on these one

so when the situation changes, . . . . .etc
until then, dont worry be happy!

Re: Wanting

^ I prefer not to use the word greed, but yes it is.. :snooty:
