Want versus need...

Should you “want” to be with someone (as in, it’s a choice) or should you “need” (as in, it’s a compulsion) to be with someone?

I’m bored and I’m trying to help up the traffic in Life1.

Re: Want versus need...

unlike air, water and food, we dont NEED someone to live. Most of the time its want but due to emotions we think its need

Re: Want versus need...

Why would you "need" to be with someone?

This is a want and not a need :p

Re: Want versus need...

Yep, we don't NEED someone to live, though life can get a bit hard without that person, learnt that a long time ago. :/

Re: Want versus need...

It should be a "want".....not a need.
Needs force us to make decisions in favour of that which we would otherwise not.....

Re: Want versus need...

It should definitely be a WANT. A need can compell you to be with a person. But for true happiness and satisfaction you must want to to be with the person and for mental ease never allow this want to become a need. A needy person can be taken for granted.

Re: Want versus need...

Sehrysh, I WANT, nay NEED to know about your rishta situation.

Re: Want versus need...

Wait for the next blog update :D

Re: Want versus need...

We should want this need :)

Lols.

Re: Want versus need...

I think Sehrysh is the ONLY person that can drag aahmed from blogs to threads......

Re: Want versus need...

want comes out of emotions, need comes out of logic.

You need to determine if your relationship with the person should be based on logic or emotions (it could be a combination of both)

Re: Want versus need...

Oops, I just sent him back to the blogs :D

Re: Want versus need...

I think WANT is much better than NEED in this situation.

I can't imagine how co-dependent I'd be if I "needed" to be with someone. Need can easily give rise to unhealthy patterns between people.

Along the same lines, would you rather be committed to your spouse/partner because you want to or because it's the right thing to do?
