i tried Estee Lauder double wear foundation…didn’t live up to its hype. i tried Clinique Superfit, clinique Almost powder, and Clinique Perfectly Real foundation all with no satisfaction.
i have oily skin (mostly T Zone) and want a med to full coverage that gives a non cakey natural look. the biggest problem i had with these brands is the COLOR selection! i swear i exchanged each type almost 5 times each because the makeup assistant couldnt get a good color match. in the end, i just gave up…
i need suggestions! at this point, price is not an obstacle, im desperately looking for a holy grail foundation that i can fall in love with…something that looks like a second skin of sorts…
brands im thinking of looking into
MAC Studio Fix powder fdn
Lancome
Bare minerals
Sheer Cover
I think Benefit has good fdns??
Plllzzzz suggest more. tell me your experiences! i hopefully want to purchase something before Eid so i can look my best
My current favourite is Nars. You can try Nar's sheer matte foundation which is oil free and is recommended for normal to oily skin types. According to Nars if used daily Sheer Matte foundation improves skin brightness, radiance and texture.
Another good brand to try is Lancome. If you are looking for full coverage then Bare minerals and sheer cover will not be a good option. Not sure of benefit's foundation never used one but, I know its a very good brand and I love their highlighter high beam.
i have kinda the same skin as u .. t zone gets a bit oily and i have a combination skin ... i tried estee lauders double wear foundation as well ... the coloures were actually allright, the coverage was ok too but i wasnt seeing the endresult i wanted to .. so i tried lancomes TEINT IDOLE ULTRA for maximum coverage which was really great ... it really gives super coverage and blends in so easily ... also the MAC studio fix foundation coveres well but not as good as the lancome one ..
u should definitely give the lancome one a try ...
i always get the samples first, mac does that too .. at least here in the uk ... just match ur skin tone and take home a sample .. lancome gives away samples too ... so always ask for samples u can try at home .. cuz the light in the shops is always different ... so try it at home and then have a look in natural light ...
You can look into Bobbi Brown's skin foundation (the latest one), apparently it feels just like skin when you put it on (as per BB). I tried the sample, and really liked it. BB has a huge color range, so hopefully you shouldn't have a problem finding a perfect match! :)
I heard NARS sheer glow foundation is really good. I haven't tried it personally...I am thinking of going to sephora one of these days and picking it up.
If you are on a low budget...
try Revol color stay.
you also mentioned bare minerals. if you are interested in mineral foundation..try the one by merle norman instead. bare minerals has bismuth oxychloride which can irritate your skin. the one by merle norman doesn't have that...only has 4 ingredients i beleive..with very good coverage.
omg one last thing..i tried sheer cover..i ordered it on t.v. their ad on tv was soo amazing that I had to get it. It is the crapiest foundation ever...no coverage at all! and their return customer service is horrible..i ended up just keeping instead of wasting so much time and energy trying to contact them. It's funny..when you are buying it they respond right away but when you call them for returning stuff. You have to wait for hours and hours on the phone and never hear back from them. ha!

ya, my sis used sheercover as well and she also said, that this product is not even worth trying, no coverage at all and really bad quality ....
so i got samples of MAC studio fix fluid and Lancome Teint Idole Ultra...tried them both on friday and saturday, one on each side of my face to compare throughout the day...
this morning, sunday, i woke up with 4 huge pimples on the side that i tried the MAC on! OMFG!!!! i thought the stereo type that MAC foundations break u out was a MYTH...sheesh was i wrong....
