Re: Want to buy a bike but dad won’t let me ![]()
Are we saying there should be an age bar for motorbike riders? Because I don’t think that should be the case. My advice was the car is safer but I wouldn’t say don’t get a bike. Its cheaper, safer in small towns, convenient in traffic and minimal maintenance. Sometimes it just makes sense.
Also, It depends on training and awareness. I’m a big fan of motorbikes but I’m not a blind follower. I’ve had two of my friends die in motorcycle accidents in UAE but of course like I said its where you ride and how you’re trained. We have a very poor culture of motorbike safety and training here so that might be a contributing factor. In the UK though road fatalities involving motorbikes are lower than cars and have fallen consistently over they years. The government runs the ‘Think Bike’ campaign constantly and there is better training provided. Also the OP is looking for a very low powered city-bike, not a superbike so I don’t see what the fuss is about.
Not playing stubborn or anything, just looking at both sides of the coin.
