Anyone work for the company? I have at least applied for 10 to 15 jobs online and have not got one response…i understand they look for ppl who have worked for a fortune 100 company before…but why is it difficult to get a job there??? Any advice abt applying to the company?
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
Why would you want to choose to work in Walt Disney anyway? Which position do you aim for?
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
i heard they have good benefits and u can move within the company to higher positions.....its a top company....and there are lots of opportunities in the area i live in...hotel, theme park, tv...etc. I am looking for a business administration position....marketing coordinator, etc...

no one is replying???![]()
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
P83... keep in mind that you need to be targetting entry-level positions since you don't have a track-record in these areas to go with your credentials. From the sound of it, a marketing coordinator for Walt Disney doesn't exactly fit into the entry-level category.
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
I refused an offer from walt disney company 2 years ago. The position was based out of the offices in anaheim. I had not applied, they had found me. The marketing team was mixed, and was going through a lot of change, there were too many salesy guys there and as the company was bringing in more marketing professionals, there were major turf wars. I decided not to pursue because they did not make the deal sweet nuff for me to move, and the mobility within the organization is not as good as one may think it is especially if you want to move from one business line to another.
now when you are applying online, are you customizing your resume for each position and are you creating a cover letter for each position?
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
Umar Bhai: So what exactly is an entry level position for me then??? I don't really want to be minnie mouse dancing around or anything.....if i wanted to work in the disney resort do u think that a front desk job would better fit my description then???
Mr. F bhai: I do change my objective and make a cover letter for each position. Do u think that its nothing to worry abt then if I don't get a job at Disney?

Not at all, Disney would be a good company to have on your resume, although atleast the groups I spoke with had mid to senior level ppl in the team and a lot of work like design and campaigns etc was sourced out to creative agencies, writers, graphic artists etc. So entry level jobs may be few.
But dont fret over it if you are thinking that its a company where mobility especially between groups e.g. cruiseline, vs theme park, vs retail ops vs media is very easy. it is not.
So do worry, some worrying is good, helps you be more critical and see how you can present yourself better, but dont worry too much. I have applied for jobs online and have never heard back as well.
But dont think you are losing out on some opportunity of a lifetime. at an entry level position you may be able to get better experience at a number of different companies, who may not have a name that public knows well, but within the industry they could be very well thought of.
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
what positions should i start applying for then????
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
^^I think it depends which sector you're applying for.. disney has tons of sectors: marketing, film production, theme parks etc.
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
i know it does....but if i wanted to apply for say disney resort...then what position do u think i should apply for? Or for Disney Consumer Products....u know disney is not just abt theme parks and hotels they do have offices...and I want a job in their office area.....
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
just so you know theme parks are big business and have entire marketing groups just for them. all the lines of business have entire structures behind them, even for resorts business there is marketing reserach, pricing, business development, strategy etc etc. Its like when one of my friends tells people he works for Mcdonalds in the systems area and they are like huh what? not realizing that mcdonalds corp is a global company with huge headquarters in chicago, and an I/T budget in hundreds of millions of dollars.
now as far as what jobs you should apply for. look for marketing positions, titles like coordinator, associate etc. I looked at disney site and found a couple.
Marketing Associate
Position:70011244
Coordinator - Marketing
Req ID: 74203
Category Associate - Toys
the challenge is that it does not look like they are advertising for fresh college grads online and are looking for anywhere from 1-4 years fulltime experience.
If I were you, I would go through on campus hiring, much better prospects than sending blind resumes online. other option is to get in as an intern..and then build contacts and go for an associate position.
Re: Walt Disney Company…jobs
this may be helpful
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
Mr. F Bhai: Thanks so much for actually looking up I really appreciate ur help. I have applied to the category Associate position....and I have been applying for positions like that. I will apply to the marketing coordinator and associate position once you look over my resume....I want to make sure there are no errors in my resume cuz these seem like really good positions to me. I understand they require some experience which I do have a little. Secondly they ONLY offer intern positions to current college students...not grads.....and the college program thing u pointed out is also for college students...i don't think they are for grads....unless u might have read it somewhere....(if it is for grads let me know)
Re: Walt Disney Company...jobs
do me a favour
for all your leadership positions, for all your work experience with the companies/...forget resume for a second...give me as many bullets on what you did there...
I think the material there is good, needs to do some wordsmithing,
I also think we should add a section at the top that spells out your core skills. for entry level positions its does not hurt to just spell it out.
so shoot that info out to me...and dont worry about stuff that you think may ot matter. I will try to pull some key accomplishments, and I also think we should do a chronological resume in addition to a functional resume.
send me the info, and I will get the first draft done over the weekend.
