How do you cope with food allergy. Is there a cure or the only cure is to avoid that food that causes the allergy?
Till recently I could eat anything, everything without problems, but I have now develop an allergy of whole walnuts, its OK if I eat in cake or dessert but big pieces or whole pieces cause my tongue to swell and my mouth especially the front part of the tongue is red and swollen for days.
What should be done?
Re: Walnut Allergy
I don’t know if it’s related but my cousin had food allergies and her doc. asked her not to repeat anything in 72 hrs.. like if she eats bread one day, she shouldn’t eat it for the next two days.. This time (72 hrs), is required by the body to flush out effects of the particular item from the body. It has helped her apparently.
^hmmm…dunno if that made any sense..
I need to sleep..maybe I can explain it better tomorrow.
Re: Walnut Allergy
Masi, this time it was so bad, that I will not be eating any walnuts in future let alone 74 hours. My whole taste sense has been screwed for days.
Hey Saadia,
I am on the same boat as u but my allergies go far beyond just walnuts..again tounge gets swollen and any other part that comes in contact with the allergen swells up as well as gets itcy and red (including tongue--doesnt get red though hehe)..i've stopeed eating allergens all together but try preserved form..surprisingly enuf i'm not allergic to preserved food but fresh/raw form i am.
