I m getting married in July INSHALLAH… wanna get sum ideas about wallima dress style and color..don’t wana wear lehnga… for baraat i will get deep red. don’t wanna get tea pink or any shade of pink coz i already used it for my NIKAH a year b4. w8ng for ideas and pics.

usually the wedding dress is very traditional i.e. red/pink/orange bright colors, with traditional jewelry (matha patee etc) and traditional kaam (e.g. all gold)

walima dresses tend to be more "modern" (for lack of a better word) with silver kaam for instance, pastel colors and diamond jewelry (for instance). this is so that the bride gets a different look on each day.

this isn't a must of course, some brides want to be traditional on walima day as well and wear a peshwas with chooridar, and some brides are "modern" on the wedding day.

i would say look at pics (these forums are a great place for research), find a dress you love, and go with it! there are no rules for this kind of thing, just guidelines :)

Have seen sooo many brides wearing blue on their Walima....

Don't wear blue..or any shade of blue

Also I would go with a color that looks nice on you and compliments your skin tone, not just choose a color for the sake of what's in.

wat abtt sea green wid golden kaam on it i think u shud go for lite colors as dark colors r already worn on da mehndi and barat

What is considered pastels? I don't think i have seen too many pastel bridal lenghas....
