yeah the wall mount issue is that usually its too high, and I dont like that. screen midpoint should be at eye level.
yaar lcd base is wide but is it deep? the thing is high so where is the center of gravity and then what is the width and depth of stand.
I mean my lcd computer monitor can knocked over so why not tv
so the best of both worlds for me seems to be the type of console i posted so its at eye level and secure..oh yeah and mobile so if I want to change the setting of the room I can.
how about getting a media entertainment centre with brackets to hook up/mount the TV to it! that's very secure...no way a kid can get that thing to tumble...i searched for it online, but i can't find it...Umar has one, and I had set that up for him about a yr ago...i'll ask him, if he can find a link for it online...
Pros: It’s aesthetically pleasing overall ; rock sturdy and allows viewing at eye level
Cons: It doesn’t come with wire management. To overome that, I built my own little backboard with properly positioned apertures for all my components… and since it’s customized, you can’t see a wire.

and hopefully not reading this post
Isn't it time you realized that begum is ALWAYS right? :P
For some reasons I feel ^ all have to go back to the basic Q LCD is better or Plasma ?
IMO Plasma ! Although LCDs are much cheaper than Plasma but the viewing pleasure would be worth while. (Many sales persons are not quite trained to assit buyers in this regard. One must web search the comparisons with tech info etc such as "crutchfield.com"
After all this is a big tag item so one must get it right first time rather than 'pashtaaying every day'
PS : The weight and footprint for plasma is quite heavy than LCD with same footprint.
the mount is to YOUR taste alone but long width entertainment (low profile) are available in the market)
Remember! You might add few more units to the setup, DVD plyr, Reciever, Cable box, etc
and you need to have neat space for those.
I am not going for either Plasma or LCD (both are too fragile) until my little one is 5 years or older as he tends to hit things with every thing he has in his hands or throw things around. I am gonna stick with rock-solid CRT technology for sometime
so i got an lcd, just liked it better.
and have a media center that it sits in which has sliding doors which can be closed to keep the tv out of kids reach. will post pics later
