Wall hanging ideas

Re: Wall hanging ideas

A HUGE poster with TLK in a jumpsuit…a wig…and an electric guitar. That should do it. :hehe:

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Hmmm, more seriously…I like the ideas of mirrors as Reha suggested. And I like wall hangings that have a unique shape to them…that form a pattern…I also like mosaic pieces as well.

You say that you have a blue and brown color scheme…so what about something like this:

Or maybe a more ornamental wall hanging. They come in a variety of shapes/designs…abstract, geometric, floral, in the shape of trees, flowers, mirrors, shells, etc:

Re: Wall hanging ideas

RV, your first idea is brilliant :D

And your black and brown ones are really nice. Those are the exact same colors I have.

Reha, I like the mirror idea as well.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

one of my personal favs, blue and soothing, just the way I like it but its not a canvas print

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Another idea is finding some interesting fabric...patterned/printed/textured/etc and mounting it on something like styrofoam really nicely and again...creating a pattern or something of the sort on the wall. You can use frames or styrofoam or anything that will make the actual fabric stand out.

For one of my friend's houses, I am looking for a bright blue color...shocking and bold.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

^ I was going to mention this. I have seen it on HGTV many times. It looks so nice & you don't have to worry about it falling on anyone's head.

Niksik you can go to Joann /Hancock or any other fabric & craft store & explain it to the people over there & they can help you gather all the supplies you will need for something like what Reha mentioned.

Oh & I love love LOVE the mirror idea. I have been wanting to do something as well. Mainly the fabric thing but just don't have the time/energy to do a DIY project these days. Already have two piled up.

Reha you are just brilliant.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Oh Wow! You guys are so full of great ideas! Hmmmm....

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Question, i have 3 big walls in the living room, brown color furniture, so one frame art hang under sofa matches the furniture, and second wall like L shape is empty so i want to hang art there but cant think of it wat to get does it has to be matchy matchy like furniture? 3rd opposite wall has black carpeted Kaba not framed yet will put on canvas.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Oh i want to hang 3-4 pieces set on 2nd wall, can anyone suggest me from overstock.com? As i will buy from them. Thanks

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Whats the name of this painting?

NIKI - dont buy a painting/or anything

I usually google images and use the colors decriptions that i"m looking for.
Save a good quality version (12megapixel) and have it printed from snapfish or kodak and for the frames target zindabad.

Two benefits - NO ONE else has my wall hangings and I always get such great compliments.
and its so much cheaper!!!

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Create your own art with masking tape and some paint. Its easy, cheap and very personal.
You can buy artist canvas from craft store, tape it up in free form design and paint it with complimentary colors.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

omg thanks :hayaa:

Re: Wall hanging ideas

not sure, saw it at APPNA bazaar where one of your state's ladies showed it, she gets the work done from Pakistani artists and sells here.
This was nice but at $5K or so, about $4.5K more than I was willing to spend. Very nice though.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

Another very interesting way (not my favorite) is to go out and buy and frame printed fabric that ou like.
Or even buy a huge piece of canvas clothe let the girls at it with paint.
then buy wood from homedepot and choose the intersting parts of the canvas and staple onto the wood squares.

I feel like ou really have to get down and dirty.. brilliant idea but lazy muniya.

BOOOO i really like it…I wanna know who the painter is.

Re: Wall hanging ideas

I love this decal:

you can change it to any colour. if you have the brown walls, make it a blue decal (and vice versa)
