Walking to Hajj

Not just from anywhere, nope! Walking from Bosnia to Mecca!

The Hajj, as it is known, is still far away, this year it is in the end of October, but 47-year-old Senad Hadzic has already set off in that direction. That is because he is on foot.He started from his hometown in northern Bosnia back in December 2011 and is walking all the way to Mecca. The distance is about 3,600 miles from Bosnia to Mecca and he covers between 12 to 20 miles a day.

On Monday, he reached a waterway that separates Europe and Asia.

After walking the more than 500 miles from Istanbul to the Syrian border, Hadzic says he plans to continue through Syria. It’s a bit risky he admits, but with God’s help he says he won’t feel fear. He plans to wave a Syrian flag with the word “victory” written on it, and pray for the victims of the conflict.

Source.

A very nice read for sure! It takes true dedication to accomplish such a task, so looking forward to further updates.

What do you think? Do you find it pointless? Also, I wounder why he’s carrying a Bible, kind of interesting.

Re: Walking to Hajj

Good for him. Stupid for him to wave the syrian flag though.

Re: Walking to Hajj

He reached Makkah last Monday.

Re: Walking to Hajj

Saw that on fb. Amazing. Why did he wave the Syrian flag?

Re: Walking to Hajj

He waved flag of every country through which he was walking

Re: Walking to Hajj

interesting....i admire the dedication but dont understand the necessity when completion of hajj doesnt require you to walk to makkah from your hometown... odd!

Re: Walking to Hajj

err ok nevermind he did it cuz god asked him to in a dream :disgust:

Re: Walking to Hajj

Care to explain your last post?

Any reference to God asking him in his dream?

Re: Walking to Hajj

I heard about this too...amazing...but I thought he walked to Makkah coz he did not have enough money to afford that trip by flight...

Re: Walking to Hajj

You 'heard' about what aaliya? :)

I am trying to figure out why llxxll made that comment about God telling this man in dream and a stupid (disgusted)smiley posted at the end after saying "I admire bla bla...".

Re: Walking to Hajj

@ llxxll:

Please answer the question or retreat and apologize for making an improper comment with objectionable smiley on a wonderful and commendable act. Thank you.

Re: Walking to Hajj

I am talking abt him walking to Makkah being amazing...

Re: Walking to Hajj

OK.

When it is (walking to Makkah)has been posted on March 14th, 2012 (and can easily be searched) on internet, then don't you think it is beyond "hearing"? ;)

Anyhow thank you for answering.

Re: Walking to Hajj

I said i "heard", because my husband told me about it...so I didn't read it here or on the net..I HEARD about it...and then I saw this thread today..so yeaaa..I heard about it.

Re: Walking to Hajj

I am very sorry to repeat that by the time it is posted it is beyond hearing.

You did not mean to say you heard him dreaming by any chance or mistake. And did not mean that to support what llxxll said right? I do sure hope not. :)

FYI for any reader:

For a whole lot of Muslims dreaming to do some act is very limited to prophets and making fun of dreaming for anyone (or using disgusted smiley on it) to this act upon it is making fun of a very dear concept for Muslims.

Yes, llxxll can write anything or show her disgusted emoticon on it by free speech but when it is talked about in such an insensitive way then it can be questioned the same way by using free speech and she can be called idiot and retard!
