Lahore, H09 ... thing is i do have family friends in lahore ..dad insists people feel awkward going to the girls valima when they arnt part of the immediate family.. dont know how true that is though?
Never heard of that....you can take whoever you want. My parents are not inviting lots of people either but 8 is just unheard off.

walima is the sunnah of our beloved Prophet SAW. Culturally the guys side hosts the walima (they typically pay for it) and invite all their friends, and family and close relatives of the bride as well while the girls side pays and hosts for the nikkah/ruksathi function. The grooms side usually tells you how many people the bride side can invite and vice versa.
