I need help and ideas deciding a walima dress for a dear friend’s brother.
They decided on a beige gold shirt and dupatta and a mint green gharara with emerald green pipings and kaam all over, etc. something in these colours:
They have to give a green emeralds studded heirloom jewellery set to the bride to wear with it. We had almost finalised the order BUT they came to know yesterday that the bride is wearing an ivory/beige shirt, a green sharara and a red dupatta with an emeralds studded jewellery set for the rukhsati she has already placed the order for the dress so no changes there but both families agreed on them changing the emeralds to rubies or garnets to go with the dupatta and pipings. So jewellery problem is solved.
NOW about the walima dress , what could be the options and styles that dont have green as a major colour used but still having it to coordinate with the jewelry ? The walima will be in the day-time and outdoors, they already had burnt orange/peach dress for the engagement so no pinks or peaches this time. The jewelry is dull antique gold so nothing with silver kaam either they are willing for a churidar/pishwas as well so that too is an option
I was thinking light ash gray with emeralds used in dull gold kaam ? a gray like this:
what else ?
all ye mods who work for bunto in this forum, please help
this is nice but it is again a family of ivory and she has ivory shirt for the rukhsati already :(
yes but i thought as she is wearing a red dupatta so it would be more bright on barat day and red would be more pronounced colour hopefully. and this outfit is bit subtle..there are not a lot of colors which go with green i think, and she has already ruled out pink and peaches as well ;)
I thought you mentioned emerald green and I was thinking more like lilac shade but this is a great example for starters and may be you can photoshop to see how the two shades are going to look together. (I am willing to do the photoshop stuff if you need)
Grey and emerald green look amazing together! There is an umer sayeed bridal in this colour combo which iman Ali modeled. I would post the pic but I’m replying from my phone.. do a quick Google search it should come up. I think dull gold kaam would look great with it
now you might think me mad but I think shades of blues (majority color) … think royal blue … with hints of green will be fabulous.
think peacock …
for example in this pic … look how well the royal blues and pale blues blend with emerald.
