Waiting for Ganguly to be Banned!

What do you think Can India influence this?

Pakistan (Inzi) couldn’t at all

Who cares??
Ganguly only hampers the Indian batting. If I were Indian, I would much rather have Kaif or Yuvraj playing that Gangu

^Its very rational to say but in reality it will go in India's favour if Gangs remain out for a couple of matches. Dravid is showing leadership germs too, however I think he is not ready to take over yet. It will be couple of years(unless BCCI sacks Gangs due to his performance), but he is the natural successor of Gangs.

^I doubt it. I think Gangs and Dravid are around the same age. Both will play to around the same time. I would expect they will go to a younger player as captain. Maybe Shewag whos still in his 20's.
Of course the outlier in all this is if Gangs has a massive string of bad scores. If he plays as badly as Tendulkar has over the past few years, I would expect the Indians to drop him. They dont look on his as favourably as they do Tendy.

why get him banned?

he is such a cartooon i love having him on the field just for the fun of it

This is like the third time I opened tis thread for no reason . Always wanted to say some thing but did'nt know the proper words but now I am saying it finally " Ganguly does'nt deserve a DAMN SEPERATE THREAD " ...

ICC lifts two-match ban on Ganguly](http://uk.cricinfo.com/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2004/NOV/112026_IND_26NOV2004.html)

The ICC has lifted the two-match ban on Sourav Ganguly, allowing him to lead the Indian team for the second Test against South Africa at Kolkata on November 28. Ganguly had earlier been penalised for India’s slow over-rate in the Platinum Jubilee one-day match against Pakistan on November 13, but he had appealed against the verdict to the ICC. The decision to lift the ban follows a teleconference on Thursday [November 25] in which Tim Castle, the ICC Appeals Commissioner, and Clive Lloyd, the match referee for that game, participated.

In his judgement, Castle explained: “On any analysis, the delay of nearly an hour to the finish of a 50 over ODI game beyond its scheduled finish time, is out of an acceptable range. I am of the opinion that the circumstances were particularly unusual in this game and a large number of them conspired to cause the delays which occurred.” In his appeal, Ganguly had brought attention to frequent changing of the ball, the heavy dew and injury to Pakistan batsman Salman Butt, all of which would slow the over-rate.

Malcolm Speed, the chief executive of the ICC, expressed pleasure at the way the appeal has been handled. “The decision today demonstrates the independence of the ICC’s appeals process,” he said. “His judgement highlights the exceptional circumstances that prevailed during this particular match while also emphasising the general importance of maintaining the required over-rates during international matches.”

Thats a logical decision IMO. That was an unfair ban to begin with.

Ganguly fined for dissent in Calcutta Test](http://www.cricketnext.com/news1/next/reutersdec04/reuters006.htm)

CALCUTTA, Dec 1, 2004

India captain Saurav Ganguly was fined 30 percent of his match fee for showing dissent during the second test against South Africa, match referee Jeff Crowe said on Wednesday.

Ganguly was summoned for a hearing by former New Zealand captain Crowe following the incident during the fourth day’s play at Eden Gardens.

Ganguly showed his disapproval after an appeal for a bat-pad catch against South Africa batsman Jacques Kallis was turned down by umpire Daryl Harper. Television replays suggested that Kallis had nicked the ball.

India’s close fielders appealed several times during the final session as South Africa finished day four on 172 for five in their second innings, just 66 runs ahead of the hosts.

India coach John Wright felt his players should have shown more composure.

“They are passionate players and I want that passion from them,” he said. “But they have to learn to control their passion and aggression.”

Ganguly successfully appealed to the International Cricket Council (ICC) against a two-match ban imposed for a slow over rate after his team’s one-day defeat by Pakistan at the same venue last month.

^^ hehe hopefully!

It really doesn't matter to me though. I dont know if Pakistanis should care about this matter. Right now I supose Ganguly is good...cuz Pakistan can easily win against him. Pakistan knows his weaknesses i suppose......Hit a few boundries, ganguly will be under pressure.
