a friend of mine is getting married soon time and shes about 5"2.. she says she wants to lose a couple of inches from her waist.. she has 32" waist… i was just wondering why do you girls feel the need to lose weight right before marriage time?.. and dont u think for a 5"2 girl.. 32" inch is fine? or is it considered fat?

Well according to the sizing chart of UK clothing shops, 32" waist is about size 16 UK.

Of course, people should be healthy and happy etc etc but speaking objectively, 5'2" and size 16UK I imagine would have an overweight BMI.

If she wants to lose weight, she should think about a permanent change and change her lifestyle, diet and exercise.

I suppose you could be 5'2 and broadly build without being fat? and at the same time you could be tall but with a smaller waist?

26" would be ideal....28" would look nice too if you have big hips.

I don't think waist size is proportional to your height is it? It's not like a woman who is 5'9 can have a waist that is 35 inches and be considered healthy.

Here is the U.S the magic number is less than 33 inches waist for gals and 35 inches for guys to be considered overweight.

depends on her body shape and how curvy she is.
