u should see the flag down ceremony every evening…the smirks and the disregard they show for each other…and the way they stomp their feet extra hard for every check and turn. For the soldiers its a matter of pride…for the onlookers, its almost comical
Yaar Akif, I have seen the ceremony several years ago. I know its pretty cool they look at each other and raise there eyebrows and then slam the gates. But then shake hands as this is all in good faith. I want to watch this ceremony again, probably tape it and put it on the internet.
You know I was actually with my Uncle who was incharge at the Sialkot border and we actually were invited by the Indian incharge in India to have lunch with him. They made some awesome puris and channas. They got chicken for us. And th commander goes this is all hallal so not to worry. And then I remember one of the gaurds asking one of our jawaans who accompanied us there if he had any K-2 cigarettes.
We were presented with many pineaples, Kajoos (cashews) and on my specail request Indian door (for flying kites).
It was a great experoience!
