The wahabis that had taken over the Islamic student organization at our school gave Friday khutbas at every Friday namaz. Their claims that I objected to:
Woman should not and need not come to Juma'a prayer
Outside of Eid, no other holidays and occasions should be celebrated - including birthdays, anniversaries, getting a pay raise, etc.
They did not allow the girls at the uni to hold leadership positions in the organization, nor were proper arrangements made for women to attend their lectures. We literally were given another room to sit in, despite being veiled and with a dupatta on, etc.
They would bully any guy they found talking to a girl, and yet, I found them interacting with girls all the time in the library and computer rooms.
They boycotted all of the events that the offshoot muslim group held, and even went so far as to harass the president at school. She wore a hijab, by the way, and was pretty spiritual.
They had a poster up in the girl's prayer room at the school which used a metaphor in which the vagina was compared as a dirty organ.
There was this one other claim they made which was pretty barbaric. I forget now what it was, but it made some of the African American muslims resort to travelling to a masjid in the downtown area for Friday prayers, because they were so offended they didn't want to read behind these guys anymore.
No true… go to *wahabi *masjids in Pakistan, its full with women. Go to *wahabis *masjids in Pakistan during taravi… biggest example is Prophet’s mosque and masjid alharam, are you saying no women go there? No womas has ever read jumma prayer there? Lol
That is your own choice what you want to celebrate… the problem that “wahabis” have is with milads and saint worships and urss that some people hold every year as ISLAMIC practice. As if it was part of islam, those *holidays *are an issue…
Of course they do, you must have met some traditional culturally backward pakistanis and not “wahabis.” Education is right of every human being and according to Prophet’s hadith, we should seek knowledge, even if we have to trave to china. So, if some individuals do not allow education for their women, they are in violation.
That, depends from person to person.
We don’t know the circumstances of that so can’t comment on it…
Ridiculous!
Btw, if you read Abdul Wahab’s books and tell us if anything is out of place there… rather than relying on issues that are different from person to person and only need a label.
Here comes another BS artist… do any of you talk facts rather than pull things out of your you know what? Are you and truth compatible at all, no really?
All Salafis/Wahhabies should be declared persona non grata and be forced to go to Saudi Arabia and herd camels until they repent. They have created this image of "terrorism" that defames Muslims. They are sick, perverted and violent.
Wahhabism is a curse on mankind and especially to Muslims.

hmmm tough question...lemme think....ye-es! the truth and I are usually inseperable.
an if your anything to go by, my inclinations seem pretty correct. fitna and bad akhlaqi is normally an issue.

Salafis and wahabis .. if I know correctly .. are miles apart from each other ..
With due respect .. do you even know what you are saying and whom you are trying to accuse
or are you saying that other than the school of thought you belong to ... everyone can go to hell
25+ years of encountering Wahhabis and their hate for anyone differing with them is enough. Wahhabis seem to make their main goal to find fault with other Muslims and "correct" them by force.
When the "best" thing you contribute to the world is Osama Bin Laden, then you know you are an awful thing.

You said Salafis and wahabis ..
I want to know if you know the difference between them .. I am not challenging your knowledge .. I just want to know
Yes. I do know what you are referring to. Technically, the term Wahhabi itself is dubious. Salafis existed as Salafis until 1800s. Then Saudi followers of Wahhab who were Salafis but because of Saudi state ties they are known as Wahhabis. But today, other than the majority of Saudi Muslims and those who attend their official sponsored masjids, who are the Salafis left in the world? Even the tiny AhleHadees community in Pakistan is heavily Saudi influenced. Bottomline, everyday Muslims identify Wahhabis and Salafi interchangeably and know generally what people it refers to.
My point is that Deobandis, Barelvis etc. got along fine before Saudi money started spreading their intolerance to Muslims across the world. They exported their hate and now it has spread like a disease.
PS: MaMooli, Talibans are Deobandis not Wahhabis - quite different but similar ideological goals.
Jaanbaaz, I am not Barelvi, I have certain reservations towards their belief and practice .. but on their defense
Saudis do not support Barelvi school of thought, in fact they are totally against them ..
also Barelvi think that the are right, as much as Shia, Sunni, Qadiani and Ismaili thin kthat they are right
but their is no association of Barelvis' with terror or suicide bombings or what not..
Wahabis belive in Taqleed, means following a school of thought, Salafis are Ahl-e-Hadees who belive that knowledge should come directly form Quran and Hadees and no middle person is required ..
There is nothing wrong with thinking or saying that your view is right. Barelvis, Shias, heck even Christian fundos do it. But when you go out and use force and threats to try to "change" people then you cross the line. What good did those thugs above plan to achieve by their drama even if they truly believed that the other brothers were doing bidah? What happened to peaceful dawah? Nobody would mind Wahhabies if they just distribute leaflets or left other people alone.

Agreed. I think that most muslims should agree on this. Many muslims are muslim and not necessarily following Barelvi, Shiah, Deobandi, etc line of thought. And that's cool. These schools of thought should make you think, not behave like inbred morons, like some people here are behaving towards one another. I am very disappointed in some of you and your behavior!
Who do you think pays for the Madaris that are training these kids with hate? Did you see the videos made those kids before they blew themselves up to kill Shias - who do you think finances their maulvi's "education" trip to Madina? Saudis used their oil money to spread poison around the world. Once you start it, it is hard to stop.
