The Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'at believes that it is permissible to call to the Awliyah Allah (radi Allahu anhum) for assistance or help as this is not associating partners with Allah Ta’ala. We believe that Allah Ta’ala has given the Awliya Allah special powers to assist the creation with His permission

That is just your belief. And its a higly illogical belief considering the fact that Allah is All Hearing, All Seeing, All Knowing...and will all the emphasis Islam places on Tawheed, it would seem very stupid to believe that Allah has allowed calling on to dead awliyaa for help.

Secondly there's a well known hadith of the Prophet that says, Dua is a form of Ibadaha; and we all know calling on to someone else in Ibadah is shirk.

Lastly isnt that what the Mushrikeen of Makkah used to do? They used Laat and Uzzah as intermediaries while they always believed Allah was the greater God.

or can you come up with any reference from any of the Saheeh hadith that the Sahabaas had endulged into calling on to the Prophet (sas) after his death?
