TAXILA: Preliminary investigation has revealed that Kosar Ali, the suicide bomber who blew himself up at a police picket in Wah on Tuesday, had been a student at the seminary in Lal Masjid.
Police and other law enforcement agencies picked up seven people on Thursday in connection with incident.
Those arrested were taken to an undisclosed location for further investigation. Among those arrested are two brothers of the suicide bomber.

The brothers were arrested in a midnight operation conducted at their native village, Jabbi Kasran, in Fateh Jang. Kosar Ali has left behind a wife, three brothers and a sister who lives in Faisalabad. His mother told the police that he had left home some three months ago and had not been in contact with the family, including his wife, since.
Police said that another brother of Kosar Ali is in Attock jail for his involvement in a murder case. Two of Kosar Ali’s brothers were construction workers while one was working as a rickshaw driver.
Meanwhile, the bomber’s body has been shifted to the morgue for collection of DNA samples.
Who is protecting the burqa mullah. He is against state, against army of pakistan, against the writ of the state, against people and against islam. Even public opinion is against this guy so why is govt or agencies not taking any action against him?
If he gets hanged or na maloom afraad kill him tomorrow then i am sure no one from civil society will bat an eyelid. He is what is everything wrong with security and social system of pakistan.

exactly...
but the fact of the matter is is that he is still alive and kicking in ... there has to be reason
Or is he being saved by security establishment as part of a deal which also let him out of jail? May be he is the liaison between establishment and the "good taliban".
I believe at this point, when army is at full flash war in border areas, they do not want to open another front in capital of the country (remember last red mosque operation how ugly it was) and I do not believe political govt (Nawaz Sharif i.e.) has will and guts to take any action as he paint himself as "center-right" leader.
Hope people realize now that what Musharraf did was right and they should have never let Burqa Man to step into red mosque again but lanat ho hamarey media per aur hamarey leaders per. Just to settle score with Musharraf, they made this Burqa-Man a "hero". This Burqa-Man did not only get many Army jawans Shaheeds but he also get innocent women and men killed inside the Mosque.

Let's not this use opportunity to pass any feel good negative assumptions about Pakistan's Army and Intelligence. Last time Pakistan army did an operation against Lal Masjid, the entire country was rocked by endless series of suicide attacks. There was unprecedented level of violent backlash, so I would like to hope for sake of Pakistan that Pakistan Army has learned its lesson and will handle Lal Masjid with proper planning to ensure lasting success.
If it's all about parking tanks outside Lal Masjid and shelling it, then that's really not an issue for Pakistan army, they can start and finish the job on the same day.
I have a conspiracy theory. I like to believe that it could be Ijazul Haq (son of ziaul haq) who is protecting molana Aziz.
Remember that Ijaz was a big sympathizer of these two brothers, in fact only govt official who cried on live TV when the lal masjid operation was unfolding. He was religious minister I think, of musharraf govt.
Because he is also the son of an army chief, he definitely has good ties with the military leadership and maybe using his influence to create a safe haven for molana Aziz.

That is actually a very good point. How could have i forgotton about that angle. But then again they killed SSG and you cannot have military support if you kill one of those guys.

how about Chaudhary brothers? (Ch. Shujaat & Pervez Elahi)
Their ties with the Ghazi brothers are very well open and proven.

Not sure if country was rocked in response of Lal Masjid. Those guys are cowards but no suicide bombers. Most of the bombing that happened in pakistan was by taliban against army for supporting america in afghanistan and allowing drones which was killing their sorry backs.

I do not think he is that relevant now. 20 years ago, yeah may be.

And that too happened way after mushi was gone.
How can you say with so much certainty that 'those guys are cowards but not suicide bombers'? Well I don't expect you to have any sufficient knowledge on this matter. But most Pakistanis would agree that country was rocked by series of revenge attacks in the aftermath of Lal Masjid operations. Talibans obviously didn't like their friends being attacked. It is not entirely the question of those students being suicide bombers or not, it is about knowing and identifying the depth and breadth of their Talibanic network which may come forward to show support for the organisation and wage counter attack on Pakistan by blowing innocent Pakistanis up, just like they did last time.
I believe in Pakistan's Army, and I believe Lal Masjid's time will also come.
Hmm, i was talking with khurshid kasuri and ahmad rashid ahmad on similar topic today and yesterday so yes i have an idea what i am talking about. Terrorism and extremism are two separate issues being faced by pakistan today and both feed on each other. For most of the terrorism you can blame taliban but extremism is settling down deeply in society and in common men.

Perhaps you do know what you are talking about. Tell us more about Lal Masjid that Pakistanis don't seem to know about.
And honestly it is getting sickening to see every Tom, Dick and Harry standing up and saying how hatred and extremist is every Pakistani's DNA. Every duffer likes to feel intellectual by taking some over dose of self hating pills, but truth of the matter is, Pakistanis are the biggest victims of terrorist and extremism, and vast majority of Pakistanis are tired of all this and want all this to end. They just like all other nations want peace, prosperity, justice, opportunity and equality in their country. It gets quite repulsive how people don't think twice before generalising a country of 180 million people.

So in which category, Lal Masjid falls into? You obviously think they are not Taliban or cannot be linked to Taliban because they don't specifically carry the label of Taliban. But if Mullah burqa another one of those loony extremists, then why does he keep reminding Pakistan about the bloody years of 2007-8 and clearly warns them the same carnage will happen on even bigger scale if he is touched again by the state? If Taliban carried out those attacks for different reasons, then why is he taking the credit for it? I'm struggling to understand whether he's just an extremist or someone far more dangerous than that.

Too many cliches, rhetoric and assumptions in your post. I mean are we back to middle school now?

what do you think?
i dont think Kaka…i have trust in raheel sharif and his leadership and he has declared taliban and extremism to be the biggest danger to Pakistan not india…that is a huge strategic shift and shd be appreciated (unfortunately india is not but that is a different topic). i do believe that pak army is finally taking actions against all militants and Taliban…we just banned jud and haqani network
so why is he still free? i will agree with decent chora above…that army is at full flash war in border areas, they do not want to open another front in capital of the country (remember last red mosque operation how ugly it was) and I do not believe political govt (Nawaz Sharif i.e.) has will and guts to take any action as he paint himself as “center-right” leader.
