Don’t you think that the wet-sari clad women undulating their hips in Hindi women is vulgar and degrading to women?
Although the idea is to try and create an erotic atmosphere, isn;t this just the opposite?
Mere khyaal mein it would be much LESS degrading if some kissing/minor nudity was allowed to be depicted directly rather than thru’ these exxagerated and vulgar methods?

nowadays, indian movie makers have got angry with this charge of degrading women. they have started degrading men also. in every movie, u see sanjay dutt, salman khan, akshay kumar and others in full bare chested glory in just underwears.

Asif --- I agree with you totally and I think your views are shared by most Indians (or at least I hope they are). But the problem is that the moment there is some ban against these kind of scenes, there'll be people who'll be on the streets to fight for "freedom of expression" !!
Mr. Xtreme...maybe what you say might happen some day. In fact a few months back the film "Fire" which showed a lesbian couple was being prevented from screening in theatres but the courts intervened and allowed the screening in the name of "freedom of expression" !! So I guess things are getting bad for Indian Cinema !!
More amazing was reaction in Pakistan. All Pakistani newspapers sympthised with 'Fire' which was being targetted by 'Hindu fundamentalists'. Pakistani heroines like Reema told journalists that lesbianism is not investigated properly in this movie and they would like to do this role exploring physical and psychological depths of lesbianism. Life is as bizzare as it gets.
