I think if there is any experiment required, they can go on and play this 11:
1) Akmal -or swap with Afridi-

10) Rao
11) Gul
this experiment wont hurt either, especially with Saffies. but I guess it will be the same 11

I think we should mentally prepare ourselves for an early exit from the tournament. We are without our front line bowlers and premium batsman. What is funny is the fact that everyone is harping about the loss of the two bowlers and not Inzi. Surely with him on the crease against NZ we would have most probably won.
The way NZ batted it would not have made much difference if Shoaib or Asif were around or not. Maybe they would have scored 250 with them in the team which was still more than what we could get.
Now coming to our game tonight i feel we have an outside chance of winning. If we do then we should be happy with the result and should not start harboring hopes of a ICC championship trophy.
At present we are a mediocre team with or without our premium batsmen and bowlers who can be defeated by any team on any given day. I might be sounding very pessimistic here but i think i am being honest.
For team changes i will get Rao replaced by Yasir and Faisal by Rana. We have a pretty toothless attack and the only way we can win is by either chasing a big total or setting up a total that would bring the opposition under pressure. This can only be achieved with batting. Even in the absence of Rana we have the following bowlers:
Gul
Yasir
Razzaq
Shoaib
Afridi
Hafeez
Our batting will get more solid with Faisal as we will bat all the way down to number 10:

Imran
Younis
Yousaf
Shoaib
Faisal
Akmal
Afridi
Razzaq
Yasir

looks like the wicket may have some grass which is bad news for pakistan with pollock and ntini in good form.if its a batting wicket i would keep afridi in the side,but thats unlikely so afridi must depart and iqbal should come in his place and there is also a case to replace rana with arafat whos a bit of an all rounder and can bowl fast.

Extremely good interview with Daljit Singh, the PCA curator. Very good analysis of the pitch and personal thoughts as well (Predicting good bounce and carry through to the keeper, bowlers to have a decent new-ball advantage, slightly upper hand to the batsmen).
