Vonage - Virtual Number for Overseas

A friend recently told me about a VIRTUAL NUMBER for overseas with Vonage. Does anybody have that for Pakistan or Middle East ?

Can you tell me how it works and if its worth it ?

I think it works pretty much like Dialpad or Net2Phone. You pay a monthly to keep the number and then you pay for making calls. Problem is its only available to Vonage Account holders. Costs may be 5 bucks a month. More details should be on vonage website.

have u tried it ? I need to know if it works for Saudi. I tried calling the company but have not been able to speak to a rep.

See a list of countries for which virtual numbers are available using Vonage

unfortunately no pak or saudia in the list…

Technically it can work any where you have internet. Its just VOIP technology. Vonage's recommended use for virtual numbers is to have a different local number as a secondary for your primary vonage numbers, so calls get routed to your primary number and your callers don't have to pay long distance.

Depending on your intended use, a better bet may be Vonage's SoftPhone. Check their website for more info.

actually i know of someone who works for another company that offer this international number stuff. If u want phatima i can get u the number for the guy.

It's simpy VoIP with a PSTn number. You can assign yourself any PSTN number here in the UK. So I can sign up not even buy a ATA box and get a UK number. Can then call the number for free. As the number is virtual it doesnt matter which country you are really in.
