Volunteering opportunities in Karachi?

Hey everyone,

I’ll be in Karachi over the next couple of months (at least) and I don’t really want to waste my time there. I’m looking for any internship/volunteer programs based in Karachi for high-school graduates, especially health and/or community work related. I’d appreciate if you answer only if you have genuine knowledge about this since I’ve done enough research online and am well aware of the most famous ones (so no, not the first few links you get by googling ‘volunteer Karachi’). Don’t bluntly give me volunteerkarachi.com. I’m looking for ACTUAL organizations that are offering opportunities.

I know of SIUT’s great program but they only accept students via local schools (needless to say, I never went to school in Pakistan). So that’s definitely not an option. I did a 4 week internship at AKUH last year and honestly I had a lot of fun. It’s one of the reasons I’m so eager to find another one. Does anyone here have information about the Make A Wish Foundation based somewhere in Clifton? Clifton is too far from my house though. I skimmed through their website and it looked good to me. I also contacted the Children’s Cancer Foundation at Aisha Manzil, they have a decent volunteer program too. I think Dar al Sukun (Kashmir Road) has a volunteer program as well (their website is down for some reason ). Does anyone know more about it? Also, the eco internship at WWF takes volunteers in batches. Any more info about that and other programs will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

:salam:
