**I think they are looking for those customers who want to save 25% on Tires and also gas…
there is a market for basic transportation…this would be considered a step up from the two wheel Motorcycle…or substitute for the Motorcyle with side car…like this BMW:
true, but the question is would adding another wheel really cost so much that it will be out of reach?
Yes you are right............it is not really about saving money.....but more for the novelty of having a three wheeler!............and it is practicle only for dry climates.
Plymouth had a four-wheeler that looked vaguely like this (more retro than futuristic). Car's name was Prowler, and it did horrible in sales and was discontinued very quickly. Miata on the other hand is a definite sales success, and even though it is also a roadster, it is a joyful little car to drive (looks quite unsafe to me, but thats just me).
Bottom line, roadsters bring some variety to a line up but they are neither big sellers nor are very practical.
heh not only prowler was discontinued but also the Plymouth brand
the car is considered a collectiblge among hotrodders but u are right from a commercial perspective it was an utter disaster
in some cases such efforts are to lift a brands image fully knowing that you have a limited audience
sometime its more effective e.g saturn sky or Pontiac solstice or even the dodge viper
