Who is the best provider of VoIP in your area?
Huh? I thought its independent of where you are.... after all its internet based. No? Your ISP may be a factor for internet connection, though voice doesn't take all that much badnwidth, when you are on cable/DSL, if I am not wrong.
It is to my knowledge as well Faisal Bhai.
Maybe the question should have been which VoIPs providers are popular in your area?
The two I know are:
https://www.lingo.com/guWeb/ Lingo
and
http://www.packet8.net/
The Lingo people have a good deal going on with 19.99 for unlimited US, Canada & Western Europe
Lingo and Vonage both have good deals.
Is Vonage service/quality really worth the extra 5~6 dollars? Currently their unlimited US/Canada is 25.99$

you read my mind, I was just about to query the same thing.
been with packet8 for more than an year.. cant say i dont like it.. its as good as voip gets.. vonage is good too but takes more bandwidth as their ata requires it i think.. also works better with qos on the switch/router/access point.. so if you have one of those old ones like me get packet8 not vonage.. :)
With Vonage bandwidth issues you can go into their site and lower the bandwidth usage (Features/Bandwidth Saver, typically set at 50 kbps). Doesn't make that much of difference in quality if u bring it down a few notches).
Also, they have a great deal for small businesses. $40 for 1500 mnts, plus a second fax number as well.
I know the VoIP services works very well in US and other countries, such as India, who have invested in telecom/It infrastructure. Unfortunately, Pakistan is lagging so far behind that I am not sure how good such services are for calling Pakistan.
I have used quite a few VoIP callig cards to call Pakistan and they are consistently poor quality . I wonder if such issues are present in Vonage and other VoIP providers service. Has any one called Pakistan, Karachi specifically and what was the consistency of the service.
Ahmadjee - I am interested to hear what was your decision. Did you subscribe?

A Bostonian stuck in DC
I use Vonage and call karachi 3-4 times a month. The quality is pretty good, consistently.
I have been using VONAGE... but... I never liked it... The sound was not Clear..
I just Changed the Equiment to QUINTUM TECH Swith and now its Very good :D
Boston bhai, I went with Lingo, because they had a better deal for me. 19.99 per month with unlimited calls in US, Canada & Western Europe.
The sound quiality is good but there is a little static which could be my cheap phone as well.
