The UPS at home doesn't configure with the cable networking.. hence the poor laptop kept waiting till midnight then crashed to bed...

UNCLE URFI, written by Hasina Moin,
directed & produced for PTV-K by (late) Shirin Khan,
was telecast somewhere in 1972-73.
It had a huge family cast;
Shakeel, Nahid Rafiq, Azra, Qurban Jilani, Azra Sherwani,
Begum Khurshid Mirza, Khalid Nizami, Jamshed Ansari,
Akbar Subhani, Shahla Ahmad and yours truly.
This is the only serial ever recorded by PTV
where TWO different characters were played by
an artiste..which incidently, was ME.
In the very first episode, I played an SHO of the Police
Station where UNCLE URFI ‘lands’ directly from overseas
having committed a good deed to feed some street boys
and getting his pocket picked that he is unable to
clear the restaurant bill 
The second appearance came in the same serial
when both; Mohsin Ali, Shirin Khan joined by Hasina
insisted that I do the flambouyant character of a young
spoilt rich lad…suitor to Azra and also flirting with Afsheen!
My hairstyle was made by Lilly Reza the make up artiste
at PTV-K and I did that role only at the persistent request
of my buddy Mohsin Ali & Shirin (Allah Bakhshay)..
while Hasina.. till this day..talks about this scene…
whenever I meet her…as some of the dialogues are
actually MY adlibs or wisecracks in English;

wah uncle, uncle urfi to mere favorite dramas mein say aik hai. but unfortunately, iski DVD porey pakistan mein nahi milti. aur jo market mein ciculate kar rahi hai woh damaged hai as in aadha drama kata hua hai . aur baaki puraney dramey aur shows like zia mohayudidn show, silve jubilee available hi nahi hain. kisi PTV ki “bhankar almaari” mein sarr rahe hongagey. kya hi acha hota ke unhein release kar dein taake hamara shauk poora ho jaye.

SAD isn’t it…that PTV holds the archives back in it’s ‘tijouree’…for no rhyme or reason.
I know for sure that they have ZIA SHOW, MIRZA GHALIB, AFSHAN, GAR TU BURA NA MAANAY, UNCLE URFI (full version…though the DV is now available at RAINBOW CENTRE, Karachi), WARIS, JHOKE SIYAL, AIK MUHABBAT SAU AFSANE, DARWAZA, RAGOUN MEIN ANDHERA…etc etc WITH THEM..BUT somehow they don’t seem to be interested in cascading them to the viewers…
Typical disdain…isn’t it?
Here…I caught the UNCLE URFI episode where I played the FIRST character as an SHO with Shakil and others;

I was looking for the all the above mentioned dvds but only managed to find “Ragon mein andhera”, Afshan, and Waris. The rest they say have never been released. bilkul zaalim jadugar ki kahani lagti hai jisnay dvds ko kaid kar rakha hai. Aap koi chakkar chalayein. koi raub shaub daalein unpe shaye koi ek aad release kar dein. aap to zia show mein assistant director thei , aapke paas koi copy nahi pari hai is show ki ?
ga tu bura na maaney, zia show, darwaza, jhok sayal should be released by the PTV kanjoosers. why are they scared of releasing them ?

aww lol no i didnt mean it dont push it for today...i was sayin overall :D i do look forward to sahir's msg but since it has been delayed time and again i do understand that ofcourse everyone's busy in their lives so instead of asking him for it everyday i will wait like a good girl :D.

Goverment has promised that Load shedding will end by 2010,So from now on,I'm leaving hope of Humayun's msg!
