on voice chat men and women can freely talk to each other. can someone explain if islam allows it or forbids it.
From a pure Islamic point-of-view, I would assume that it is not allowed. But can’t be sure, so won’t comment further.
Currently, Its allowed. But, within the means of Islam. Women and Men talking should not discuss[or do] things which are only permitted under husband and wife relationships. The conversation has to be clean.

its just another form of communication, you use ia as you will...nothing makes one 'haram' over another!!!
Ok i think its not haram to talk to people unless they talk about bad stuff...

Go mess with someone your own size!
I agree with the Watcher, however due to human nature it can be seducing if it is done as a recreational activity.
Ofcourse the All-Knowing knows best!

Well… as the consensus seems to be building that VChat is allowed, so I guess, all of you have some islamic evidence to back it up.
I can’t say if it is allowed or not allowed. However, it is my belief that as a general rule, Islam does not permit a na-mehram male or female to meet or talk where no mehram is present, unless there talk is absolutely required for emergency or business purposes. This doesn’t seem to bother anyone in these days, and I will readilly admit that I may be wrong, so don’t pick up your daggers just now, ok?

Now the reason for this is a hadith which states that an activity which leads to haraam is also haraam. Meaning that a halal activity can also be haraam if it leads you to haram.
Don’t ask me to explain myself. Those who know what I am saying, have probably understood. For the rest, I can only say, please continue with whatever opinion you follow.
And please don’t give me any sermon on “This is the 21st Century!”, “We don’t want to be stuck in 7th century”, “This doesn’t make sense at all” etc etc… If someone wants to get a religious ruling on this, get it from your scholar or moulvi or someone you trust!
