Re: vitiligo…anyone ?

I suggest you consult an actual doctor instead of homeopaths.

I found this in Lahore:

Please, please don’t waste time with Hakeems and all that!

Re: vitiligo...anyone ?

Prototype:

Very sorry to hear about your son. One of my Khala's has vitiligo (she's currently in her 50's....has had it since she was a teenager). She never found a cure. I know years ago she used to apply a mixture on her skin when going out...the mixture evened out her skintone. But now, after all these years....her entire face/body is white....so she doesn't do it anymore. A close of friend of mind has a daughter who was recently diagnosed with this too (the girl is 9). They haven't found any cure either.

I showed your intitial post/pic to my fiance who's a M.D. and he said as far as he knows, there's no "cure". If you find something that works....please post it here.

Re: vitiligo...anyone ?

It would be best if you consult other dermatologists and have their opinion while continuing current treatment.

Re: vitiligo…anyone ?

Thanks paheli00. I am a doctor too and I know it’s course and response to medication is totally unpredictable. I have seen people who turned all white within months and people who have few tiny patches since decades. But being a mother, i have days full of hope and faith that they’ll disappear and never come back and then i have days of total disappointment and pessimism about all horrible things happening to my son :frowning:

I just mentioned in my post yesterday about the decrease in patches using a gel and a steroid that a dermatologist prescribed. It seems to work so far! I am quite hopeful right now. Aagay jo Allah ki marzi :bummer:

saadiab, i will surely ask about it. I have to go back in 6 weeks iA. I personally think raiyan’s patches were all white, nothing ‘in process’ of depigmentation and they mA responded to the drug.so there’s no harm in trying. He gave me contact number of the druggist who will prepare 80% composition wali psoralin cream for phototherapy. I am calling him tomorrow iA to place the order and i will keep updated about how and if it works.

Re: vitiligo...anyone ?

somebody who do roohani ilaaj has told that eating jamun (purple fruit) helps in this disease.

that steroid and gel does work !

Re: vitiligo…anyone ?

Proto, wish u all the best.

Re: vitiligo…anyone ?

@SaadiaB - Inspired from you!! - You saved my link and recall it? That’s amazing!

@prototype - My friend is also suffering from this disease. Most of the parts of his body is white (Covered through white patches).

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease and it can catch anyone! Scientists are still searching for the causes vitiligo skin disorder, so there is no perfect cure for vitiligo available! You can find many alternative treatments such as herbal/ natural treatments and these treatments are result oriented most of the times.
