Vitamins

Eating healthy I suppose is the the ideal but until that starts to happen, what vitamins would those in the know suggest taking for somebody who’se diet is far from healthy? Any brand that offers all the goodies in just one tablet?

What about herbs that are good for you? As it may be obvious, I’m totally ignorant. I am not looking for pro and cons though, just pills I can pop because I am not getting the right dosages of minerals and vitamins otherwise.

Obviously, the vitamins you need depend on the ones that your diet doesn't have. Most multivitamin-mineral preparations on the market aim to provide something over the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) and are adequate for persons in normal good health who are not obtaining sufficient quantities through their diet.

But if you are ill, have metabolic deficiencies or any other particular stress these doses may not be enough. Similarly women who are pregnant needs different doses. Simply increasing the number of multivitamin pills is not usually a good idea because this can increase the quantity of fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E) that can increase to toxic doses. Therefore in this case you should consult your doctor about additional vitamins.

The best thing to do of course is simply to eat healthily - it's possible! and aviod habits that deplete your vitamin and mineral stores.

I heard that eating pills isn't the same as getting vitamins through eating food. Supposedly these supplements are of pretty limited value, or at least that's one opinion.

There's always plenty of confusing and contradictory advice about all these issues isn't there?

I think what you are after are Supplements. Tried Blackmores? They have a very good supply of all kinds of stuff that is all natural.

you'll have to visit your local pharmacy or a health store to sort that out. But whatever you decide to take make sure its a Sustained release product. Otherwise they arent really doing any good.

one tip: eat healthily
these pills are a pain in the neck! just put them aside! the longer u stay away from these things the better
