Vitamins

Do you gals and guys take any vitamins . How do you know which ones your suppose to take or even what brand. Because some of them are made out of gelatin, no?

I’m currently taking Iron supplements prescribed by a doctor. I’ve been told not by a doctor but by aunties to take vitamins, and i’m confused and not going to risk asking the aunties.

Hope that makes sense, why i’m worried about vitamins at 10pm on Friday night, no clue.

In an ideal world you wouldn't have to take vitamin supplements because you would get all the nutritions you need through your dietary intake. In reality it's hard to always find the time or effort to cook a balanced meal all the time especially if you work full or are a student.

I take a multivitamin vitamin and mineral supplement, evening primrose oil, flaxseed oil and kelp tablets every day. I get the capsules that are suitable for vegetarians, as they are made out of vegetable based gelatine.

I take one tablet of Centrum Multivitamins and one of 500mg Calcium daily. Usually i try to drink orange juice or eat fruits daily but if skip a day i also take 500 mg of Vitamin C to compensate. But as Shahreen said you don't need these if you are eating a balanced meal.
As far as i have heard, you should not take Iron unless you are prescribed by a doctor becuz it can be harmful.
Best way is to just take one multivitamin a day such as 'One a Day' or 'Centrum'. They have RDA(recommended daily amount) for most of the Vitamins and minerals that we need.

Thank you ladies. Jal Pari, the iron I have to take because i'm anemic.
