Re: vitamin c serum...

yeah it is good..but vit c doesnt have a long shelf life..which is why you cant rely on the ones found in supermarkets..you can make one at home by getting ascorbic-L acid powder (vit c) and mix it in glycerin and water..make it in small quantities..so when you are done using it..make more as needed..

Re: vitamin c serum...

okk thnxx....but wat i ll tell the name to chemist at drug store vit-c powder is needed or ascorbic-L acid???n is it relyable 4 skin??i mean is it safe?

Re: vitamin c serum...

Hey Horizon, just saw this thread...

Vit C serum is good for the skin, it's meant to plump up skin collagen, make the skin a more even tone, eradicate sun damage like sun spots and make the skin brighter.

I've been using it for about a year and have to say that while I don't notice any collagen benefits, the main thing it does is makes the skin brighter and gives it a glow. Vit C is a good antioxidant and apparently also protects the skin against the sun.

Best vit C serums are Cellex C and Skin Ceuticals. Obagi does one also.

Re: vitamin c serum...

thnxx tania as i was luking forward 4 the rite reply,,plzz tell me which cream or serum in cellex c r u using??i mean the name of serum in this brand?

Re: vitamin c serum...

No worries Horizon. I'm actually not using Cellex-C myself. I've used Skin Ceuticals in the past which is good but sticky but am currently using Henry Tianus (organic brand) Antioxidant Youthful Essence which has 20% Vit C concentration along with other antioxidants. It's not widely available though, only via online or a couple of organic shops in London.

The Cellex C serum is called 'High Potency Serum' and it has 10% Vit C concentration. The highest concentration you can get in Vit C serums is 20%. Personally,

Re: vitamin c serum...

Personally, I would opt for Cellex-C over Skin Ceuticals.

Re: vitamin c serum...

Re: vitamin c serum...

I have been using OBAGI vit-c 20% from last yr and i have to say its works wonder gives a glow and also faded my brown spots. The container is adrk blue and I keep is away from light all the time to keep it active for long.
I know I can make it at home but Its get inactive in few days .I rather get if from my friend with good discout who works for a Doc.

Re: vitamin c serum…

Yep Vit C is excellent for your skin- i currently use it as part of my moisturising routine- its ideal for women …as it restores the elastacity of the skin and allows your skin to regenerate and therefore conditions it- go for it:k:

The only vitamin c serum I can find readily available in the U.K. is the the vitamin c skin reviver from the body shop. I use it myself and it’s great, esp mixed with a little vitamin e oil. It also has great reviews.
