Of course it will be slow on oldeer hardware! Didn’t you read the mimimum specs needed? before installing it. Specially anything wil less than 1GB Ram should be discouraged. A VGA card which supports DirectX 10 is recommended.
And I don’t see any similarity with Mac OS here? 
Specially the Aero interface.
