So my Windows Update today shows me that it’s finally available… and although it’s been a few months since the whole beta fiasco with SP1, I’m still a little wary of installing it.
Anyone braved the install yet… any problems?

I hate vista with a passion. I can't even bear it as 2nd OS or as a OS to try out.
I find it most annoying when it constantly uses HD even when you leave it for an hour and you are absolutly NOT running anything on it! WTH is it doing!

Yea i used Vista for a week or so, then reverted back to XP. I’m content (for now). Vista’s just not upto speed yet, maybe a little while longer.
aah - so everyone took a wait-n-see approach...
Well, I completed the SP1 install on two laptops last week... running Vista Ultimate and Vista Home Basic, and thankfully, it went smoothly. That being said, I had read a lot of horror stories online and had taken several steps in advance to try and alleviate any potential problems including of course, a full backup of my data.

one's a work provided tablet machine (with Vista Ultimate)... the other was purchased last year and came with Vista Basic pre-installed.
If it were up to me, I'd prolly still be using Windows XP.
