Can we predict how will the situation in Pakistan unfold in Feb - March 2013 during election days? Is it a good time to visit Pakistan?
I am concerned about jalsay jaloos, road blocks, hangamay, etc that might peek during those days.
Please advise.

Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
Where will you be based?
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
There is no way to predict what's gonna happen or if something's gonna happen but if you open your history books you will see that there is a very high chance that it will NOT be a good time to visit.
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
I'd try to stay away from election days unless really necessary i.e. some family event.
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
If you don’t have your vote registered, get it done asap, take part in the electioneering and cast your vote like a good citizen.

Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
I'll be visiting Lahore and Islamabad. And no I won't vote as there is none worthy of my vote.
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
If you dont want to vote, then its better to avoid travelling then. Otherwise I think Lahore and Islamabad are pretty safe.

In less than six months, some of those unworthy of your vote will be ruling the country to whom you wish long life in your user name. Maybe you should consider visiting your country not like a tourist, but like a citizen who owes something back to his country. Help your country get the best it has, not leaving it to those who are the worst.
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
stay away from the chaos...moving around in the city and within the country will be a major headache and on top of that the worries of violence erupting NOT even at a moment's notice!

Come on Vote Please

Unfortunately, Pakistan Penal Code 298 B and C wants me act like a "Kaafir", which I can't do just to cast my vote. And there is no mai kaa laal who can change this constitution, because all of them are pithoo of mullahs.
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
I started planning for my visit to Pakistan without knowing about the election time , now I have my tickets and visit visa , my leave from work was also planned weeks ago . What I need is an advice about places to avoid if that's possible to tell .
My trip is going to last for around a month in sha'a Allah . Around one week will be spent in Lahore which I think is safer than some of the other areas . I will also visit Islamabad and few other areas but Lahore will have the biggest share .
Re: Visiting Pakistan in Election days
^ you should be safe in Lahore and Islamabad. And I expect things to improve during election times.
