Hi Guys
This summer (well for many of you guys it will be winter), planning a visit to Pakistan to visit family and this time I really want to go as a tourist and absorb the atmosphere , I am wondering any good places to visit will be flying into Karachi from Australia, after a couple of days will be visiting Lahore and Islamabad.
Any suggestions will be helpful.
December will be ideal weather to visit these cities.
Karachi:
Any beach like Manora, hawks bay, Cape Mount etc.
Burns Road / Port Grand Food Street / Boat Basin for Food
Lahore:
Lahore Fort / Badshahi Mosque / Minar-e-Pakistan
Wagah Border
Fort Road Food Street / Anarkali Food Street / M.M.Alam Road for food
Islamabad:
Daman-e-Koh / Pir Sohawa & Dinner at Monal Restaurant
Murree / Galiyat
Rawal Lake is disappointment so don't go there. Instead you can visit Khanpur Lake (55 km from ISB) for Paragliding and/or other water sports like Para sailing etc.
Definitely check out Mohatta Palace in Karachi...one of my favorite spots in the city. When you get there, Call and see what exhibitions they have going on for Dec 2013
I also think Itwaar/Sunday Bazaar in Defence is a must, it's such a fun way to soak up Karachi culture and cheap shopping at the same time!
Zamzama is a must for trendy cafes and shopping and the new Dolman Mall in Clifton will have you thinking you're in Dubai or US!
Thanks :) will definitely check them out. Really looking forward, but starting to get scared hearing all the stories, will definitely write back in where I ended up going?
