Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

Salaam everyone

I’m not sure if this is in the right section but i need some help from those people who are living in Lahore or have visited Lahore.

I’m visiting Lahore on my own sometime in may for about 10 days and i want to make the most of my holiday

I have already booked my hotel in Bharia Town as that’s the best i could find that would suit my needs, if there’s anything better please recommend.

I have also booked a car for 10 days so i can get around.

Now i’m at a point where i need to plan my 10 days in Lahore, what can you recommend me in regards to entertainment, eating out, spas, shopping and attractions.

I’m going to Dubai first from Manchester so i want to blend it all in and have a luxary holiday overall and a western environment.

PS those living in Dubai can also give me a helping hand

thanks in advance

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

BAHRIA TOWN? SERIOUSLY?? It is like one hour away from main Lahore. :/

It is on the outskirts of Lahore!!!!

Food street is a must. Near badshahi masjid and heera mandi one.
Badshahi masjid, shahi qila and all the sights.
Visit mochi darwaza and go to KHALIFA BAKERS FOR naan khataiyan and balu shahi. Do not miss that!!!
Try after eight gelato from Cosa Nostra in gulberg.
Go to Kasur for Kasuri falooda. Only half n hour from Lahore. Good road, good drive.
Visit Jehangir's tomb in Shehdara for a good sight. Good huge park around the tomb, to take in the sights and stroll around.
Go to Anarkali bazaar and shop around. Also, in front of punjab uni campus in anarkali is a bund kebab seller. Try his bund kebab with shezan hari mirchi sauce. :)
and go to Ichra for khusse and bedsheets and whatever you name it and while you are there try the famous Ichre de phatore channe.
Also don't miss Capri ka nashta. Must be done early like 6 7 AM otherwise it gets finished. Halwa puri channe.
And go to Mall Road and try chaman's ice creams. AMAZING.
Also go to Mall of Lahore. Fortress Stadium. Hyperstar.
Liberty market! YES YES YES please. Moon market in Iqbal Town as well!
Go visit Lahore Safari park in rawind. It is a good drive and place is pretty and green. On way back, stop at a Fri Chicks and stuff your tummy with good ol' desi murghi.

Go to butler's cafe for a shot of hot chocolate which is so extravagant and yummy in the tummy.
Visit to Y and Z block DHA is a MUST.
Visit DHA's gol market. :)

And the shopping area in G Block commercial phase 2 DHA.

and you have to eat from Freddy's and a visit to MM Alam Road is a must.

Also visit the Jinnah park in Mall Road. And the library/museum inside.

FOOD WISE:

My list of must visit restaurants include, but are not limited to,

Freddy's, Cafe Aylanto, Gourmet Grill, Village Restaurant, Cosa Nostra gulberg branch etc.

ALSO on Temple Road there is a Pyara Chargha House. Go there at night and eat at a table on the roadside!!! Fresh and hot garlic naan and cheese chicken tikke. I am guaranteeing you an amazing taste bud journey. Jus take your ketchup bottle with you. They don't have it. -___- rawaiti bbq with raita. Me like ketchup with my grilled items!

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

waris ki nihari bhool gaya

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

So I think I've written down the major things. I'll think of what I do when I go and write that down too later!

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

is it bun kabab or bund kabab? coz... the latter translates into something pretty gross in hindi.......

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

I am not speaking hindi here. Or referring to hindi for that matter.

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori’s Please Help)

okay just checked - bund = butt in punjabi too.

My husband took me to Cosa Nostra on our first anniversary...the food was epic. Def try it out.

MM Alam Road is a must. So many awesome restaurants and shops.

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

Thanks everyone much appreciated.

Why are shisha cafe's illegal?

There must be some form of entertainment and chill other than eating out and sightseeing
What do you guys do?

The salt mines look amazing that's definitely something added to my list

I will be visiting salt & pepper , chaman ice cream, sardar Ki machli and other places mentioned by you guys

Coda nostra sounds popular so will have to see what's it all about

Also heard there's a place called hotspot that do very nice deserts

Dubaiwali the reason for staying in bharia grand is because I could find any other hotels I like
PC and Avari seem over rated and the rooms look tacky judging from pictures on Google

Recommended me more westernized areas, restraunts and hangouts

Thanks Dhoti, Dubaiwali, Ethan hunt, and s punk

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

Shisha Cafe are illegal because well doing shisha isn't good for your health.

Okay, few other things that came to mind.

Hambra Arts council.
Hall Road.
Camera market.
Barkat market, near Iqbal Town.

Good do visit the places we told you bout, also try gogey ke channe.
and paye from yateem khana chowk.

Cosa Nostra is a nice cosy lil place in gulberg. Does nice italian by paki standards. gelato is what is really good, there.

Hotspot in DHA. Nice place. PC is a very nice hotel. I don't think it is tacky at all. Restaurants in PC are nice too.

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

i will definitely go to all places you recommended
i have plenty of time so i can visit all those places for
breakfast lunch and dinner.

restaurants in PC & Avari sounds very promising and the decor looks amazing.

I've not physically visited the rooms only judging by the pictures I've seen on Google comparing them to the pictures I've seen for a suite room in Bharia Grand.

major downside in Bharia grand is there isn't a swimming pool or spa :(

i will reconsider PC as you've lived there and know more about it

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

Alhamra Arts Council

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

I don't think that there is any thing left now for me to tell, but if you will have to choose between food streets, pick the Shahi Qila's one.

(One situated outside the Badshahi masjid and Shahi Qila "Lahore Fort" )

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori’s Please Help)

Yeah the heera mandi one. Its is beautiful!! I prayed namaz on the rooftop of cuckoo’s den facing badshahi masjid last time I went. It was amazing!!!

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

I've heard about cookus den and it's on every Lahore tourist site
Is it based in heera mandi and if so is it safe to go there?

Are you living in Dubai now?

Re: Visiting Lahore (Lahori's Please Help)

Lol yeah heera mandi is on one side. If you don't go inside it, nothing's gonna happen to you. I doubt it will, even if you go inside. I've been inside with my mum.

Badshahi mosque and food street is opposite heera mandi, so no issues. Pretty safe. Entrances of food street have two gates with armed security guards.

I have lived outside of Pak all my life. In Dubai from 11 years now. I visit Lahore many times a year.
