What are the must-see places for someone who has never been to Karachi? Where do you think someone coming from the West should visit? Please explain why.

Seaview (seaside), Clifton area including Boat basin, Quaid-e-Azam's Mausoleum. Shopping areas like Park Towers, Zamzama , Tariq Road and yes, go to Saddar, its an experience on its own.

Mohatta Palace (inquire to see if there are any art shows or exhibitions taking place)

visit to turtle beach dts much better than dirty clifton beach or even paradise point. park tower good to see but saddar too much rush in ramzan.

tariq road (shopping)
dolmen mall at tariq road (shopping)
bahadurabad (zameer ansari’s kabab roll)
pak towers (shopping)
boat basin (food street)
french beach :wink:

people are crazy to soccer shirts, you can find those at zainab market (sadar), you can also find leather jacket there too.
never ever try to go to sadar :smack: unless you have a reason.

Jahaz se utar ke hi halwa puri kha lein to bas aik hafta bed par guzray ga. Phir jo marzi khaen.

I'm planning to take my family to Karachi/Lahore/ISB on a two week break, neither of us are or have been pakistani citizens nor do we have relatives in either city, any tips/advise?

If you like visiting historical places, Do not forger Makli Hills

Khatti and STA has pretty much covered everything else.

I’ll also suggest a food-night at Burns Road and Quaid’s Tomb

Well, Don't miss the taste of Karachi: ALL THESE ARE THE THE THE FAMOUS PLACES IN KARACHI.

  1. Imran Ki Lassi @ Water Pump. There is no such lassi available anywhere in Pakistan.
  2. Javed Nihari @ F. B Area Block 15
  3. The best of Chana Paapri Chaat / Gannay ka Rus / Fruit Chaat @ Show next to Newtown Masjid
  4. BBQ @ Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar (Off Naheed Super Store) & Zamin Ansari (Alamgir Road besides Alamgir Welfare Trust)
  5. Haleem from Mazaidar Haleem @ Gulberg F. B Area Block 18.
  6. BBQ @ BBQ Tonight
  7. Nasir Ki Halwa Poori @ Main Water Pump Chowrangi F.B Area block 14. Sunday there is a line of around 100+ ppl.
  8. Liaquat Abad k Gol Gappay. Its one famous shop. Ask anyone there and he will guide u. 'But its a risky place'.
  9. Haji Mehfooz k sheermaal. Try it once. Waterpump F.B Area Block 14.

Aur yaad aai tou ill let u know...Ramzan hain tou i am not thinking much :p

Arena (A must see, I always enjoyed bowling there)
Sea-view (you should visit but you wont find it clean anymore..)
PAF Museum (not in my top of list but again if u’v never been here, u can enjoy)
Al-Habib Restaurant or Al-Sajjad Restaurant (at super highway but you will enjoy a night out there with family, certainly)
Quaid-e-Azam ke mazaar p ab sirf dates hoti hain to unless you dont have a bf in karachi..i wont recommend you :hmmm:
BurnsRoad if you want to eat some chatpati Chaat or dahi-bhallay :yummy:
French beach is what I have heard now closed.. :bummer: dont know the reason verna French Beach and Neelum Point are gorgeous!!
Hocksbay/ Paradise Point/ Sandspit (not sure about sandspit) are good places too!!
Dreamworld Resort
Javed Nihari ki Nihari bekaar hogayee hay STA :frowning: its no more same!!
and Gelato Affair, so far best italian ice-cream parlor.. (I have been to Karsaz branch, dont know if other branches exist :@:)
