Visiting Karachi - hotel & transport

Hell all,

I will be visiting Karachi for 3 days in the beginning of March and would appreciate some suggestions on where to stay and how to get around within Karachi. I am looking for a hotel in or near the area of Sadar or Shahra-e-faisal having a budget of RS 3000/single room/night.

as for getting around, i am thinking of hiring a car with driver. Would it be safe to do this in Khi? I have been quoted RS 2500/day (12 hrs) with driver and own CNG. Is it normal? any other suggestions?

I don't know much about the hotels in that area, but the rent-a-car with driver for 10-12 hours is about right.

considering the budget and locations you mentioned, I think Paradise Hotel, Saddar and Hotel Mehran, near Avari Towers (Shahra e Faisal) will be suitable. I think rent-a-car package seems ok, you might get further information from your hotel on current rates of rent-a-car.

While Paradise Hotel is in Main Saddar, it will charge a little lower than Hotel Mehran.

Hotel Mehran has quoted me around RS 9000/night :-O didn't know hotels in Khi/Pak were this expensive...

any idea about the Hotel Sarawan if its any good?

I think then you should opt for Paradise hotel, Saddar / Hotel Sarawan with this budget.

Hotel Days Inn ( Shahra e Faisal) is another option, but that might be out of budget.

Try Faran Hotel (Faran Hotel) or Embassy Inn Hotel (EmbassyInn Hotel - Home)

Both are near to Nursery, Main shahrah-e-faisal.
