Visit To Pakistan Need Help!!

we are planning for a trip to Pakistan very soon Insha-Allah, I am planning for my shopping here for gifts and there for ourselves. Would you please give me some ideas for gifts and also shopping ideas from Pakistan.

Re: Visit To Pakistan Need Help!!

you will be amazed most of the stuff you can buy from there will be cheaper and also hassle of luggage too. only buy those gifts that you think are not available in Pak. very few though.

shopping ideas from Pakistan.. depends what you like it there and your intersts.

Re: Visit To Pakistan Need Help!!

well when i went, it seemed like the most appreciated gifts were nice shampoos and conditioners, perfumes and cosmetics for the ladies, colognes and after-shaves for the men. Pocketbooks, backpacks for school-going people. Diapers, bottles and liners for babies.

when i went there, i wanted to get lots of clothes, shalwaar kameezes. Also, they had SUCH beautiful furniture accents, like this small round hand-made jewelry table...it had inlaid work and so many drawers, it was $80 US and you cant find anything remotely like it here. I am still regretting that I didnt get it. Also, vases....hand-tooled copper painted with inlaid ceramic. Little ring boxes, there were clay ones with lots of fussy work tooled in and then hand-tooled silver ones with inlaid semi-precious stones. The jewelry over there is also awesome.

Re: Visit To Pakistan Need Help!!

My parents always gave cash to the kids and chocolates...

Re: Visit To Pakistan Need Help!!

Thanks for sharing ideas.

Re: Visit To Pakistan Need Help!!

chocolates and toys for young kids - baby clothes and accessories for new born babies(in pakistan someone has a new born baby everytime i go there). Generally, the families are happy if you bring something for their kids..
I would buy a lot of of cheap and pirated software, games, VCD'S/DVD'S - I believe each CD only costs around Rs30... :D

anyways, for your own shopping, i bougvht a lot of clothes, some shoes...i regret that i ddint buy any more shoes..there was a shop in liberty @ lahore..damn..they had some nice shoes!!!..i also bought decoration pieces/scenerys...my husband bought a few swords (as a showpiece)...
