So i have hirsutism and trying to control it with Birthcontrol pills as of yet. Works fine on the areas that i wax/shave/electrolysis, but what can i do to areas like neckline… chest… stomach… back? Its fine hair but since its so dark in colour im afraid it will be visible in close shot pictures! Should i get several bleach cream packets and just bleach it all?? dont want to wax these sensitive areas as im afraid it will grow back more visible. Any advice please!

Hey how did you get diagnosed with this? I think I have the same problem but no doc takes it seriously.

Yea it was same for me.. no one took it seriously. Had to change few docs until one managed to see a pattern. I have mild PCOS also...

Waxing is the least hassle free, long-term solution. There is no scientific evidence to back up your fear that hair will grow more visible as a result of waxing.

Im just scared that when it grows back i might have issues like ingrown hairs or bumps and uneven skin... which is not so flattering to have especially as a bride :(

I get waxed regularly (full Brazilian, underarms, etc) and I use European Wax Centers Strut line of products. Since I started I haven't had any ingrown hairs and I used to get them with some regularity (the curse of sensitive skin!) They have an exfoliating gel that you use before you shower (body and a more gentle face version) and then wipes that further prevent any bumps. Perhaps you could try them?

FreshBakedPi do you wax yourself or get it done?

I get waxed! I figure it's a sensitive enough area that I should go to a professional.

Waxing and other root removal methods aren't the best idea. As well as possibly distorting follicles which cause ingrowns (which depends more on the individual's skin than use of different waxes or exfoliating), root removal can cause vellus hairs to become thicker because of the damage caused to the follicle.
The two safest long term options are shaving or bleaching. I'm not a fan of shaving vellus hairs because you are cutting the hairs of at their thickest point and they will continue to grow with these blunt ends until the hair sheds and a new ones takes their place. So the hairs can feel rough until the next cycle comes through. Bleaching works well if your skin is on the fairer side as the hairs show up less on the skin and the skin will loose the greyish hue caused by the black hairs sitting on it. Obviously, you will still see hairs in very close-up shots but it depends how much this bothers you. Vellus hairs are completely normal, we just have the downside that ours show up more because we have black hair - you don't see blonde haired girls worrying about their vellus hair.

Thanks everyone! im considering bleaching... but is there any brand out there that gives a bigger amount of bleach? I have Andreas body bleach but i would need to get a bunch of those cuz its not much at all!
Not shaving it exactly for that reason,, dont want a rough feeling decolletage area :(
