has anybody recently applied for spouse visa for settlement in the UK in Pakistan? we have and its been about 4 weeks since we sent off the papers…the waiting time is 12 weeks, but we’re hoping that maybe we will hear from them in the nest 3-4 weeks…has anybody applied and received a reply from them quite fast or is it a 3 month wating period?

spouse visa take longer than normal visitor visas. I have got it proccessed for my wife last year, it took about 2 months, some cases turned around time is longer and sometime shorter depending on the situation of spouse in uk.

My brother applied for his wife on 30th of Jan, we got a response (it was accepted) at the end of May. So when they say 12 weeks, they really do mean 12 weeks. Oh and don’t bother going on the Gerry’s visa service and entering in your application number cause that is a whole waste of time, never updated and when you get a decision they just delete the record.
Once your 12 weeks has passed, it might be worth your while giving them a chase which is what we did by phone.

As far as I know, they don't have interviews anymore in Islamabad for spouse settlement visas, unless it's very exceptional circumstances.
