I have a quick question regarding applying for immigration of two countries at the same time.
The scenario is that a wife applies for her husband’s US immigration based on the green card that will take approximately 3 years from processing to receiving v-visa, in the meantime, husband applies for Canadian non immigrant visa on the basis of job or education, whichever works out well. Hence the question is, does applying for two countries affects the status of the application or the prcessing time period by any chance?!?
Also, how much job opportunities are available for a chemical engineer in Canada considering he has a bachelors and Masters from UET, Lahore, and a work experience of about 2 years.
I applied for Canadian Immigration and employment based U.S greencard at the same time. I was granted Canadadian Immigration and had one year to land in Canada with immigration papers. I never landed because my U.S greencard came thru. I ended up withdrawing from Canadian Immigration.

It doesn't matter, he can apply for both; Canadian immigration & US green card. It will not effect the processing time of either.
I would recommend him to stick with US plans, as it is really difficult to get a job in Canada, esp. with no North American degree.
GTG, if he is working in a multinational company then its likely that he can find a job in US, Canada I am not too sure. I had a cousin who came to Canada with UET degrees and used to work for an American company in pakistan. Later he moved to US in the same company as he couldn't find a job in Canada.
