visa prepaid card

Can visa prepaid cards be used in Pakistan? For shopping or eating out?

Re: visa prepaid card

Yes but it depends on the retailer whether they accept card payments and the type of it.

Re: visa prepaid card

prepaid Visa cards are just like a regular Visa card. so, yeah, you can use it across the world where Visa is accepted.

but, why would you use a prepaid card because it costs more and the maximum limit is usually $100…you have to buy several cards in $100 denominations.

there are banks whose Debit Cards can be used as Visa Cards as well…the money comes out from your Bank account directly. you have to have funds in your account available to use this card. i think this is a better option…second only to regular Visa cards.

Re: visa prepaid card

if they are generally accepted where credit cards are then this is a great way to send a gift without the risk of sending cash.
you’ll have to investigate well because often times retailers even on this side of the world don’t know how to process these…I think they have to punch it in as a “gift card” sometimes…not exactly sure.

I took them and used them in Pakistan a few years ago. My dad decided to use his own back card and some guy bought 6000 worth of stuff on his card. Never again. So now it’s all prepaid Visas.

Thanks for the info friends  I was thinking of sending it as a gift like muzna said cuz I don’t think sending cash would be appropriate so just wanted to make sure how it works over there.

Omg seriously? :open_mouth:

Re: visa prepaid card

Prepaid Visa Cards are like cash and it can very easily be stolen by the postal employees in Pakistan…

…why don’t you send through Western Union? it’s cheaper [less than $10 for amounts up to $500], fast [within minutes] and safe.

Don’t you think the other person will get offended if I send that as a gift or should that be fine?
