I really like the the information regarding visa application for spouse.I am also applying for my spouse. The only thing worries me that from where I can find out the english or translated version of my urdu nikkah nama. Some poeple said there is english version of nikkah nama available and some said there is NO english version only translated version of nikkah nama is available in english.
Please advise me those already got visas of their spouses, from where in pak they got ENGLISH version or translataed version of nikkah nama. What it looks like and what is the proper name of that document. How many pages it contains.
thanks
khan
English version is pre printed form in English, though its sometime understood as the real nikkah nama, but It isnt. Its a translation. I got mine requested the same time I done my nikkah, so I got two copies.
If you have already nikkah nama, you just need to get the translation done and get attested by the same person who performed nikkah, if not any one can attest this, plus notary public, and last but not the least, Foreign affairs attestation of this english copy.
hope this helps
what happen to those UK citizen don;t have job which they could not provide p60 wage slip but have good bank saving account, will it be enough for their spouse's visa accept?
i dont think it will be a problem, provided the spouse in UK is not on benefits of any kind of from the state. healthy bank statement backed up with plans for future business or the job may do the trick.
on different note, if someone has good saving account, they also need to file tax return end of the year. proof that they are paying tax on saving interests!

Many thanks for your great help and information in clear and simple way. In response to your advise I will ask the same MOLVI who performed my nikkah asking to give me translated version of nikkah in English together with attestation. If he can't do attestation then its a long way for me to get an english version as I have to attest, notary public and then knocking doors of foreign affairs.
Is it possible to get english translation of nikkah nama from karachi city court, people sitting outside on benches, that might be helpful to get all work done from one place. What do you think???????
Thanks

Re: Visa applications
that person don;t pay tax as she is a student so she got interest on her saving account (net or gross)
Thank you walaithi Guppy and shak kills.
I think i'll have to delay my marriage for atleast one year then. I'm currently working full time and have been for the past nine months (so have the relevant pay slips). I am thinking of doing a PGCE in September and thought I may be able to apply for the visa in august for when i'm planning the wedding, but the only problem is that they require a letter from the employer explaining the status of employment ... and i'll be leaving in august. although i'll still be getting paid to do the PGCE over the next year...i dont know if they'll accept that.
coolmunda; i do not think you will have to delay it but can only apply after the marriage (nikah has taken place).
as long as you have ample savings and show that you are receiving money for your PGCE, it will be fine. basically, in your cover letter you need to write everything clearly and include all the info; that you have worked (pay slips as evidence), that you have savings (bank statements), that you have decided to do a PGCE to further your career (they will love this as you are investing in the country so to speak; include official documents to show that you are on the course and that you are getting paid).
i got married in December 2008 (1.4 years into my PhD). i gave my end of year tax return for the april 2008 to show that i had worked the year before starting my PhD and had paid tax. bank statements showed that i had ample savings and my incoming studentship payments. original documents regarding my status as a PhD student and that i receive my studentship on a regular basis, also a cover letter from my supervisor.
my husband was granted his visa 2 days after he submitted the forms but this is also because he is well educated and they know he will contribute to this country.
quite basically, if you can prove that you are well settled in this country, that you and have money to support yourself and your spouse AND you fill in the forms correctly/don't lie/provide original documents, you will get the visa.
also, my cousin finished her degree last year. she started her job straight away and only worked for about 2 months before going to pakistan to get married, she had savings but not a huge sum. her husband got his visa without complications as well. she just made a very good case to show that she entered employment straight her education and gave her intentions for the future. she proved the her minimum contract term with her employers and that her wages would be enough to support them both.
Re: Visa applications
what about those people who have no job but still a student and want to getting married in pakistan and bring their husband/wife to UK, but they don;t have tax, employer letter or wage slip but have good reasonable saving bank account will it be enough to accept visa instead of refuse?

i highly doubt that you will get a visa in those circumstances.

You will have to satisfy the authorities that you can support your spouse financially - are the savings going to be enough to prove this? What do you intend to do once these funds run out? You would also need to explain briefly where and how you got these funds from (i.e a big lump deposit into your bank account would be more difficult to pass off than a steady accumalation over time)
If you have family willing to act as an additional sponsor i.e by confirming that they allow you and your spouse to live with them in their home rent free untill you graduate and get a job then theoretically you can still apply successfully although you do need to ensure that your supporting evidence is very comprehensive.
