nod32 for me
it still isnt the best
I use it as 2nd option if I cant get kaspersky.
Though on most of PC I use nod32 Smart security with Seagate Personal Firewal pro.
I know nod smart security has its firewall but its just nothing.

Re: virus scanner
sooooooo i'm sensing that people are leaning towards kaspersky.
i've installed the trial version. haven't ahd the cahnce to check it out though. just that i don't like how it installed these addons to my FF and i can't seem to figure out how to disable them.
Re: virus scanner
last time i used kaspersky in 2008 very lite and works better than many others
havent used any anti virus in more than a year i guess ![]()
Re: virus scanner
Lafanter…you don’t have ANY AV software on your PC?! ![]()
Maybe this AV software thing is a ploy/scare tactic then… for us to part with our “money”
Maybe there is no such thing as a virus…
Maybe it’s all lies! ![]()
Re: virus scanner
Its not I am leaning to it I am using kaspersky since 2006.. though I have to change to ESET smart security when kaspersky blacklisting got tight :D
you mean you actually pay for these programs?
yup, I have no Anti virus software installed
i just do a scan every 2-3 months with “spybot SD” :cobra:

maroush is rich man! so for her everything's not free ;)
Re: virus scanner
Haha! CP, I put the word “money” in inverted commas for a reason… :halo:
Lafanter, i use SpyBot also, but in addition to other software…i just can’t believe you have no AV software at all… i’m shellshocked ![]()
Re: virus scanner
shellshocked! hahahaha was there pun intended there?
lafanter, i bet u have so many trojans (ON YOUR HARDDRIVE).... just get a trial version of kaspersky and scan, you will be surprised.
Re: virus scanner
I’m so glad someone gets my humour ![]()
Re: virus scanner
I don't have any either.
I don't get viruses or spyware. But then I don't let anyone near my computer and don't do silly things with it.
I shocked a fellow PhD student with this last week. He thinks of himself as a tech head and decided he needed to list all the reasons I really should use something and it was just 'a matter of time'. I just stood there nodding and thinking 'I learnt how to build a pc before you probably even had one mate'.
