I agree , Guns are the fastest way to kill smeone, its jus like an instrument for death ,BUT you keep on saying GUNS Shud be banned ...... i would like to ask you if gun bans can reduce the killings anywhere around,it wud imply those who are willing to murder aren't willing to break the law in lesser ways.If thats the case then tell me more on this .
thx
I'm not sure if I understood you correctly....
.... if there was a ban on guns the killings would be reduced not because of what you said above....but simply because guns would not be readily available and if they do become available to some.....murders at such magnitude like in the case of the VT massacre would not take place.
This is not about Muslims or Guns, it is about Mental Illness, and a very sick young man.
.
Fool, if this sick was carrying a drill he wud not have managed to kill more than one or two or may be none.
If Iran enriches Uranium for electricity you cry out it will fall in hands of terrorrists, but if guns are available at random and kids keep shooting each other, its the person pulling the trigger to be blamed.
Keep the guns out of reach of sickos.

ok so tell me how practical it is to hunt down every single mentally ill person in america?
Does the society hunt down unemployed to help them? There is no need to hunt down anyone. All telltale signs were there for this kid but no public policy or system to intervene. His creative writing teacher had recommended counselling but none was provided for him. Also, he was a suspect in two threat calls made to his school.

while you go searching for them .......I'll do what i can do to take guns out the hands of americans.
Hahahahahahah. You do this and I do that? What kind of thinking is this. The country needs better public policy to help and reach people with mental illnesses.

FYI...there are some people that pull the trigger out of rage and anger and are NOT mentally ill....what do we do about them?
And taking guns away would prevent them from killing?
ironically you are saying the same thing.....according to you ....treating the mentally ill will prevent incidents like this from occurring.
Oh no no, we are not saying the same things: You are resorting to cheap political tactics a'la Bill Orally and "comedian" Rush Limbaugh (and distoring people's statements), I am proposing solutions. You want to cure the symptoms, I want to fix the root cause.

i nvr said WE are saying the same thing!
apparently we both differ in our views.....you think the root cause is the person that pulls the trigger and i think the root cause is the gun itself.
like i said not everyone that pulls the trigger is mentally ill. so how do you suppose you can "fix" that?
I just got back from Georgetown Uni’s interfaith vigil …truly sad yet touching to see how many people came out in support for the students and faculty of VT.
Dont forget friday is Orange and Maroon Day…please show your support…most people here in virginia are at least.

Not everyone who takes a leak in co-workers coffee pot is mentally ill, so how do you suppose you can "fix" that? Replace "take a leak in a co-workers coffee pot" with "swings a baseball bat", or "recklessly uses a nail gun", or "drive too fast", etc, etc, etc.
I don't hve any issue making complete ban on guns ,BUT do you really feel ,if ban on guns can reduce crime rates or killings. We even had killings , murders when Guns were not there.
Restricted access to guns in countries like UK,Japan.. leads to more crime against unarmed citizens.Guns made illegal in UK since 1997 the UK murder rate has increased to a 100 year all -time high. There is no way to hide those facts.
In America there are about 200 milion privately owned Guns. Lots of them keep Guns for there safety purposes because many believe that Guns help them from being robbed(Life is not risk free, especially in America) and many of Americans has faced that kind of situation. But if you ban on Guns, you are not banning to criminals as they will get that stuf anyway , but you making ban on local people who normally wud apply use of GUns for there safety , it wud be damm easy for criminals to take advantage of this situation ,probably that might b the reason when ban on Guns made in UK, crime rates/ murders were increased instead of getting low.
If guns ar ristricted , exceptions - Criminals .Criminals will feel more powerful as they wud think they only have the GUNS and they will not think twice before killing unarmed citizens for there selfish reasons, as they were used to before might person they goin to kill have Gun , n there is a danger to there live as well , So by restrictin Guns is not the solution , according to me .
I think we cannot do anything and these type of things are only going to increase in future .
In the UK on a whole its people with guns that get shot...they raise the mark and so do their enemies...their means of protection is also the reason they die...
I am here, this thread will be here, guns will continue to be in the US constitution, there will be no "stricter controls" or a ban on guns anytime. Coz NRA is a strong lobby, & we all know that every president has to listen to NRA...:)
