MQM protesters surround private TV channel in Karachi

KARACHI: Violent protesters, apparently belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement, on Monday surrounded the office of a private TV channel in the city’s Saddar area after calls from MQM chief Altaf Hussain to ‘storm offices of TV channels’.

The violent protesters also set a police mobile on fire and threatened a reporter of ARY News.

According to local media reports, Hussain in his speech earlier in the day had told the party workers “to storm the offices of TV channels”.

The MQM activists have also caused damage to shops located at Zainab market, forcing the owners to shut the businesses.

Traffic jams are also reported in areas surrounding the Karachi Press Club and I. I. Chundrigar Road with the road leading to CM House has also been shut.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the IG Sindh to take stern action against those involved the incident.

Re: Violent protest by MQM workers in Karachi

I have found that their arguments are very superficial. Their support and blind love for MQM (despite the extremism it engages in) is based on ethnicity, plain and simple. Furthermore, they also post a lot of false information here cleverly, some of which is sheer misinformation based on long heaps of unsubstantiated claims (which most of them dont bother checking).

Great news. Let's hope that this is the final nail in MQM's coffin

The only coffin that stays nailed is the one nailed by voters (like PPP in Punjab) .

Good job! Loved watching Farooq Sattar get swept away.

Re: Violent protest by MQM workers in Karachi

MQM jaisey dramey bazz koi nahy, apney moonh pe thaper mar k khud hy rona shorro ker detay hain. MQM is a terrorist organization and its sympathizers should be treated as such. Just like the TTP who use Islam for their political ambitions, MQM has hijacked a whole community, urdu speaking people must be liberated. Why is UK‬](Facebook) mute on hate speech by one of it’s citizen. Altaf Hussain should be tried in a terrorism court and then hanged publicly in Karachi by his nuts.

Re: Violent protest by MQM workers in Karachi

What's the big deal?

Pakistan Muradabaad might be a unforgivable offense for people living outside of Karachi but as far as MQM is concerned, hold elections tomorrow and I challenge you that MQM will absolutely clean sweep Karachi, and that's the bottom line.

There's a group that directly votes for MQM then there is even bigger and more dangerous group that simply does not vote against MQM.

No amount of Pakistan Murdabad slogans from MQM is going to make a substantial difference to this reality.

Re: Violent protest by MQM workers in Karachi

will this bull$hit mqm ever finish and be gone?

Re: Violent protest by MQM workers in Karachi

This Altaf madness needs to stop...

problem is that karachi is still ruled by mQM no matter what...and the win all the seats.

are Karachites going to come to roads in big numbers for MQM or will they stay at home?
