Violence in KPK

After a brief lull the violence is back in KPK. If the provincial government is not able to stem this; their end wont be different to ANP before them. With the violence going on it would be difficult for PTI to market their peace plans.

TTP accepts responsibility for Peshawar convoy attack - DAWN.COM

Re: Violence in KPK

It seems as if TTP is again raising the level of violence to force the provincial government to cave in to their demands. The provincial government should improve the security of the province to avoid these events. At the moment nothing seems to have changed during the transition from ANP to PTI. In KPK the basic deciding factor during elections was security.

Re: Violence in KPK

Again it is high time that IK should denounce these 'maut ke saudagar'. Launch full operation to clear these killers of innocent people. Otherwise next targets will be IK himself and members of his party.

Re: Violence in KPK

^ launching an operation is one thing and denouncing them is another. I have yet to see any statement of condemnation from the provincial government and support for the victims.

Re: Violence in KPK

It is rather unfortunate that IK has very bad team to support him. Sooner they will let down him, like they got him severly injured just before elections. There seems to be many snakes in the team of IK pretending to be his friends but they are not. IK should have enough intelligence to fore see this nonsense. IK and his PTI will be doomed very soon if he does not act.

Re: Violence in KPK

The people of Punjab and kpk will vote in the next elections based upon the performance of Punjab and kpk governments. PMLN was elected to end the power crisis, and they have started working on it. It needs to be seen if their actions yield results or not, where as kpk elected Pti to improve law and order there. I have yet to see any plan of action of the provincial government to improve security situation there. Personally for me it seems to be the continuation of ANPs indifferent government.

Re: Violence in KPK

I feel KP gov is working on depoliticising police force in KP and want to control law and order through them. Its long order. If they have to improve law and order, they need to measure up their strategy and enforce it asap. This will only demoralise the province further. this security situation is their biggest challenge!

Re: Violence in KPK

as of now KP govt has shown their will of revamping police force, hiring new officers on merit, restructuring the way police stations work. real actions have yet to come, but at least they have given some hints on what is to come, which is good.

but it feels too little at the moment, if PMLN is saying they are preparing their energy policy and will present this in a week or two (NS said he will present this policy in his address to nation) he also said we are working on making national counter terrorism policy, didnt call any meeting or conference of all parties yet, it may be their internal debate or brainstorming. but from PTI side, i do not see any such thing. today there was an important meeting at IK's residence as per ArifAlvi, and matters discussed there were "national, parliamentary and party issues, and plans for KP performance" no specific mention of security policy or how actually they are going to "talk" to the TTP who is not willing to talk. for now, they seem clueless.
