Trade talks been going on between raps and potland jailblazers about a multi player trade that would involve vince, jalen and two other guys going to potland for shareef abdur rahim (will be the second muslim in the raptors franchise history), derek anderson and vlad stepania. If this trade goes through, raps will be given more depth inside and will add more choas to the already crowded pf/c rotation, unless they plan on playing abdur rahim as a SF but i think he’s more of a PF kinda guy.
Now if this was even a year ago, i would have called babcock a complete idiot to even consider such a deal but now that we have seen a chain of inconsistent performances by both vince and jalen (who by the way make up for about half the team payroll), i think this deal wouldnt be such a bad idea after all. I’ve kinda grown tired of seeing vince nailing 18 feet turnaround jumpers one night and throwing bricks from the freethrow line the other and letting big power forwards such as zach randolph breeze thorough effortlessly. Jalen rose is kinda getting old aswell. This trade could benefit both teams but i still think that it does favour potland just a little bit as they are not losing anyone they really care about (Zach randolph, darius miles) but on the other hand we are losing the two highest scorers of our team. It’ll be intresting to see if this trade actually goes through. Will be good to see some change but then an era in the raptors history will come to a close in a quite abrupt and non-dramatic fashion.
I hope they trade him. Vince is such a wimp man, no heart. The guy annoys the hell outta me. Shareef would be ok. But the trade I really like is Baron Davis and Jamaal Maagloire outta New Orleans if they are available.
Unsubstantiated, but I heard ESPN is reporting that Memphis is making a pitch for VC. Something along the lines of Miller, Battier or Bonzi, Wright etc. Not unless if they take Jalen Rose. All the trade proposals to the Grizzlies don't have Jalen Rose which is the contract Toronto wants to unload badly.
I thought things would worked out with new GM and coach but I guess Babs given up on Carter, and decided to build the future around Bosh.
Yeah i heard that a trade involving 3 teams or more isn't out of the question. If memphis could be involved in the deal, i would like to see nothing better than mike miller and shareef abdur rahim come to toronto. I have always liked miller and his ball handling skills but his injury prone body will of concern to me. If all three teams can lose 2 guys (Vince and jalen for T.O., Shareef and Derek anderson for Portland and miller and bonzi for memphis) i think a fair deal that would benefit all the teams involved wouldnt be something unimaginble. But w/e happens, shareef abdur rahim has to come to T.O. unless any trade would nothing but hurt the raptors.

I think he's shaping his team around detroit's philosophy, with no apparent franchise player. But let me tell ya something, this ain't gonna work unless you have guys like big ben who can pull boards to feed others. Bosh and loren woods sure as hell can't be the rasheed and ben of T.O.
