Re: Viewpoints from Sindh
The way you are defending 'certain' ethnic fascist parties, its quite clear who you support. Also, when you come out here believing a party like PML[Q] will overwhelming win the elections, its obvious you dont want to be taken seriously despite the 50,000 paras you type. So what is the word for the chief of MQM, since you called BB a kalli mai (though she was quite gori)...
I do not think that any party is fascist. On the other hand I believe that almost all Pakistani political parties have fascist elements in them. I also beleive that people of different parties, all conisder themselves and their party as party of Angels ... and other parties they do not like as party of fascists ... I dont.
As for believing that PML(Q) will win the election overwhelmingly .. I think that we all have right to believe what we like. I am not asking you to believe what I believe. I really do not care if you believe that if Imran Khan party 'TI' contested election than they would have won 90 percent of NA seats. Similarly, I expect that you should not have any objection on what I believe. :)
[Brothrer ... from what I wrote above, do not think that I believe you are supporter of Imran of TI ... I just used that as example ... so, do not take that as personal :)]
Anyhow ... just to give you reasons for my belief (though I do not think that it matters or I have any obligation to give reasons for my beliefs or opinion):
In Pakistan, at most constituency ... it is candidates that win the election, not party. PML (Q) at present have around 150 members who won their seats in 2002 election (after many independent that joined them and are now part of PML(Q) and contesting on their ticket). Most of these candidates are those that could win elections regardless of whatever party they contest. On the other hand ... PML(N) has 16 members, PPP has 55 and MMA has 57.
I believe that during last 5 years, a lot of development and progress work is done in Pakistan that made life of many much better than what it was 5 years ago (You many not agree, but that is what I believe). Thus, I believe that PML(Q) would do as good as 2002 election ... most likely much better.
On the other hand ... I believe that MMA, PPP and PML(N) situation is worse today than what it was in 2002, and thus I believe that they would do worse than what they did in 2002.
I also do not think that there is any reason to believe differently ... as if whatever ground realities that existed in 2002, if it has changed today in 2008, than it has changed to give better result for PML(Q), as in 2002 NS lies and duplicity were not exposed (for many), MMA was riding high on American interference in Afghanistan and sentiment was a bit against President Musharraf ... plus at that time there was expecation that Musharraf wanted PPP to win as he was not thinking that PML(Q) would do as good as it did ... thus probably Musharraf plan was to form coalition government of PML(Q) + PPP ... and give Prime Minsiter slot to PPP (Amin Fahim) ... something BB did not let it happen. ... In 2008, PML(Q) is going into election to form government (unlike in 2002).
