The Morgan Motor Company has been building vehicles since 1909 and built its first proper car - as opposed to a three-wheeler, or cyclecar - in 1936. That was the 4/4, and although it’s been joined by seven other models, it is still being made today.
The Plus 8 is one of those other models, and the Telegraph sent a crew to watch it being made. An eight-cylinder version of the Plus 4 (the Plus 4 has a larger four-cylinder engine than the 4/4), it takes 30 days to produce each sample - hand-fashioning the wooden body in the image above is just one reason why.
